The only thing she ever knew was first class living. There were a few times in the movie that she gave a look when he did things or some of the people she was around. At that time she was a teen that was not truly understanding what would happen if her and her mother did not have someone to take care of them. That’s what her mother was trying to say. Was it fair that she was in that position? No but at that time there was not choice. It would seem maybe a novelty to live like he did for a short time, but not knowing where you would sleep, what you would eat would be very hard for her having had everything handed to her.
Rose didn’t love Cal. Her family was forcing her to marry him. That’s the problem. She was not choosing to be with him. Now me personally if I were in her position I would marry Cal. He’s a good looking guy and he’s financially stable. Also I could love him. There is nothing wrong with having both love and money. You actually have more time to enjoy love when you’re not worried about money. I wouldn’t choose poverty. Also Cal was a good guy until Rose cheated on him and then he snapped and turned bad. But I think if Rose loved him he would have stayed good.
Cal seemed to honestly love and adore her. He was practically begging for her affection when he gave her the necklace. She comes off as a bored little rich girl when you look at it from a different perspective. If she wasn’t so bitter towards her mother she probably could have loved Cal. The only reason he got upset with her was when he found out she was off flirting with Jack. Before that he was nothing but doting on her. And Jack looks like a boy compared to Cal.
The fact Cal reacted the way he did shows what kind of person he is, he’s abusive and controlling. Rose shouldn’t have to be with him if she doesn’t want to, she was being forced. His violent outbursts are on him, it’s his fault he acted that way, not hers. He is responsible for his own actions. If he really loved her he never would’ve slapped her, he never would’ve done any of the things he did. This is a misogynistic mindset many people have. “If only she behaved better he wouldn’t be doing this” “It’s her fault he hit her” Its textbook victim blaming gaslighting. The belief that the victim is responsible for the abusers actions. Honestly I wouldn’t even call it what Rose did cheating when it was a forced engagement. Women had little say back then, she was basically being sold to Cal, she had no say in the matter. Cal wanted control of her, he wanted her to be his little possession, you don’t treat people you love that way, you want them to be happy. Cal would’ve been abusive and controlling even if she stayed with him, that’s the kind of person he is. You guys are clearly young. Please change the way you think, it’s harmful and dangerous.
I first watched Titanic as a child, and I never liked Rose. I hated that she dropped the diamond necklace into the ocean. As I got older, I realised that she spent the entire film narcissistically recounting her life to a group of people that she knew were searching for the diamond, all the while she had it herself! She made her mother out to be the villain, whilst knowing that their future depended on her marriage to Cal and that they only had "a legacy of bad debts hidden by a good name". I'm glad you mentioned that Jack could have survived if Rose had not jumped back onto the ship. She gave up a coveted seat on a lifeboat and caused Jack's death, when he could have found the door by himself and stayed afloat. Why people waste their time speculating about 2 people using the door is beyond me. Even in death, her selfishness continued. Rose had a husband, to whom she was presumably married for several decades. She had at least one child and grandchild. Why were they nowhere to be seen in her Heaven? She romanticised her 3-day relationship with Jack to such a degree that she disregarded all others. I love the 'Rose is a sociopath' theory the best. “Poor little rich girl, what does she know about misery?” is a great question.
I get where everyone is coming from, but I believe Jack was her soulmate and her husband was a lesser love. You can just meet someone and feel like you've known them forever, it's happened to me and it isn't infatuation, it's a rare connection.
No one ever mentions the fact that Rose neglects to give Trudy a heads up that the ship is sinking, just leaving her to die waiting for Ruth to come back for her cup of tea. And 84 years later, Trudy is faithfully wearing her domestic servant’s uniform in Rose’s heaven, ready to be enslaved for eternity to the spoilt daughter of the mistress who got her killed.
I also liked how when Rose realized Jack passed away due to hypothermia, she casually, without showing any emotion detached his body from the door and dumped him into the water to sink like a trash, which would imply she didn't even cared about him.
Irrational behavior is observed in some human young females, bored with wealth, who are tempted by the exciting dark side of unsophisticated rascals lacking style, wealth, and elegance. This girl, Rose, had she married the homeless rascal Jack, would have regretted it all her life. At least, with the rascal's death, he was idealized in her senile mind remembering those idealized times where rascals are good guys and the good guy is evil.
the mother was the real villain, cal had real feels for Rose but and she doesn´t, but the mother force rose to be with him because of the money, she was broke.
Is this video for real? Rose didn't want to marry Cal. It was her family wanting her to marry into riches. Its not like she chose to. Jack and Rose fell in love. Its that simple. The marriage with Cal was a sham and so what if he gave her jewelry and speant so much money. Rose did not care about riches but what was in a man's heart. Cal was the guy who didn't care about all the people who died. He even threw a man off a lifeboat
You have enough spine to attempt suicide, but not enough to return the diamond to your suitor and say: "Yea, sorry I am not gonna go through with this." The man literally wasted his fortunes which could have gotten him through the great depression for a gift on that vapid woman just so she could cheat on him and throw that gift to the sea.
I'm pretty sure he slapped her before Rose cheated. Secondly Rose's mother was the villian. She's the one forcing Rose into a marriage, with a cruel man she doesn't love

Also she never explained her mom's outcome cuz it would have made her look bad. Mom either became poor and abandoned. Or Cal took care of her.... Pick 1
Roses mom was not exactly likeable character. In fact, the only characters in the movie that acted like people were the actual ones from the real Titantic.....like Mr. Andrew's, the ship designer, the captain, and not to mention those people who had died, like the older couple who went to their bedroom to await the sinking, the band members, the man that stated he was dressed in his best and ready. The poor man who told his crying children to hold onto mommy's hand, Molly Brown, etc....those people truly made the movie over the fictional ones
And all those photographs on her dresser at the end of the movie only have her in them. Who is taking the picture? You would think she had a wedding picture. I agree with you that Rose was a villain. But she was not the reason the Titanic sank. Actually in reality Jack and Rose would have already been suffering with hypothermia from wading through all that cold water while on the ship. Both Jack and Rose would have been in a weakened state. When you know that it brings extra hatred for Rose for not staying in the lifeboat. I could go on about the flaws at the end of the movie story-wise. But that's not the topic right now.
I was always bothered she dropped the "heart of the ocean".. it wasn't poetic at all. like, how many slaves died mining that thing out of the earth? . what artist made that? Who bought it.. Jack? No.. that piece of jewelry really didn't belong to her... not really, anyway. It was too significant to the time period. And the reason it was given to her (cals love and affection) she threw away. Not cool, rose. Not cool
I literally never paid attention to that one caveat. yes Rose is responsible for a lot of things but when you pointed out this detail regarding the whole entire ship sinking is actually her fault because of her shenanigans. there are so many fan theories but there are three that makes the most sense that Jack was killed because of her, other people died because she was Saved by Jack. if he'd let her jump over into the cold water to her demise everyone on board would have survived and made it to New York Safely lol
Really, this has more to do with the way the movie portrays the crew as incompetent and evil, like Fleet being a slacker, which he wasn't. If it wasn't her, Fleet's wandering eye would get caught on something else. But that isn't how he was.
The same goes for peter and mj from spider man 2. Because of them an innocent man was humiliated at his own wedding. And spider man fans have the nerve to hate on paul, from the latest Amazing Spider-Man comic when spider man 2 peter, literally did the same thing as paul.
Today after watching this movie, my mom said that Rose was evil herself only. Ruth wanted wellness of her daughter but she considered her only as her enemy. Cal was trying to save from Jack because he knew the nature of these vagabond people who used rich girls only for money. My mom also said that if Rose would have married Jack in reality, then he would have sold her as a concubine in the harem or kothha in India or any muslim country. There are many real life examples like this, where girls like Rose have suffered by being with boys like Jack. In Indian serial, tmkoc also Bhide said that why today's girls prefer useless and vagabond boys over educated and well- earning boys. They consider their parents as their enemy only but they forget that they always think welfare of their children more than themselves only. My mom said that if Rose would have struggled due to homelessness or hunger or got sold in any kothha or harem, then she would've have realized that if she would have obeyed her mother and Cal , then she wouldn't have to cry or be trapped for rest of the life.
Really enjoyed your video. Have a been a fanatic of the film my entire life. Some people might consider the story of jack and rose to be far-fetched. I always found it very believable. Love can occur in the oddest, and most unlikely circumstances. Love is also anti-rational in almost every way and people can murder over it. It’s a story of the power of love and memory, no matter how short.
basically the same points that were said on the rewatchables (czcams.com/video/2v-Ov6Cxn0Q/video.html). the only major difference is that you do not believe Cal is bad from the start, he was just majorly pissed by Rose.
I really like the running theory that everyone's actually dead including Rose herself she died on the boat inject was just a figment of Her Imagination she suffered from grand delusions/depression lol which is probably why the people who were looking and laughing as she and Jack her "imaginary friend" were making out they were laughing at her making out with the air cuz she was by herself. everyone that is on the balcony staring at Jack and Rose kissare all actually did because the boat has already begun to think at this point when the movie
Actually that is Jack andfroze creating a distraction but the captains are responsible but their own actions. Professionals decide whether or not they will be distracted. She was lowley playing and fucking with Jack's life because he was accused for stealing the necklace that caldeon goons put their and when jack tells her to defend him rose doesn't trust him a person she slept with and let paint her naked but was so quick defend him for saving her when they accused of him bothering her when she barley earlier in the film when she wanted to kill herself jack almost died and she comes back and says she no but not to say to anything before he got got locked up and beating up by spicer 😅
What I love in the film is the Titanic has split in half, Rose and Jack are on the stern. She turns to Jack and says "What is happening Jack?". LOL. Urh.....the ship is sinking!
Cal was a abusive agressive monster. And just for the record, in human female ethology: In the end, what happens is that everyone who crosses paths with the destructive, neurotic Rose ends up ruined, dead, or betrayed. It is a good lesson for anyone who becomes infatuated with a bold, young, and unpredictable woman who behaves like a worshipped goddess. Do not worship any woman, or you will end up the same way.
Rose did not kill Jack. Jack was a bum and a player trying to create a reputation for himself by getting b****. “If only she behaved better he wouldn’t be doing this”
“It’s her fault he hit her”
Its textbook victim blaming gaslighting.
Cal let rose off easy. Back in the old days cheating on your husband warranted a death sentence.

You all would have gladly stayed with someone who hits you and verbally abuses you? Y'all need therapy, wow.
@@frosinicapandispan5534then she shouldn't have married and stayed single after. Her behavior to her husband and father of her kid(s) is humiliating
Wow. Everything you said about Rose is factual.😂 And people think this character is a saint.
Caledon a good guy? You can take this too far
Cal was evil. Rose didn't care about wealth. She cared more about a person's heart and morals.
He literally joked about hundreds of people dying just because they weren't rich.
I dare you to explain how a physically and verbally abusive man is the good guy.

You have enough spine to attempt suicide, but not enough to return the diamond to your suitor and say: "Yea, sorry I am not gonna go through with this."
The man literally wasted his fortunes which could have gotten him through the great depression for a gift on that vapid woman just so she could cheat on him and throw that gift to the sea.
I find it funny that she is partially responsible for the Titanic to sink

Jack was a clever man and im sure he would it find the way out and survive. So yes, she killed him 😂
This is flawless logic.
She let her mum experience poverty when her mum was trying to set her up to not be poor
So she was supposed to sacrifice her happiness for the rest of her life? Rose's mother was the villain
She is more Evil than Thanos and Darth vador , she sp evil that we didint knew she was evil
How was she a villain by leaving a man she did not love, who she was forced into marriage with?
Thank God I am not the only guy who noticed this back in 97!
Not cool

Rose is culprit and shown as innocent but she is good example of person with intolerance.
Nothing but truth
Jack cannot be blamed whatsoever that’s just a homeless transient making his next play, boy was a top G would’ve made it big time in the USA
They would of been no world hunger selling the necklace
The same goes for peter and mj from spider man 2.
Because of them an innocent man was humiliated at his own wedding.
And spider man fans have the nerve to hate on paul, from the latest Amazing Spider-Man comic when spider man 2 peter, literally did the same thing as paul.

When you muh mentioned that she goes back to the Titanic when she dies...too emotional bro, why making water cone out of my face man😂
Today after watching this movie, my mom said that Rose was evil herself only.
