I think the green gradient in cure wing’s outfit is because he represents the sunset of sky. During sunset time, sometimes you can see a glimpse of green light from the sun. It’s a strange natural phenomenon

I think Cure Etoile / Homare's outfit looks like a flight attendant because she has a whole motif about wanting to jump again, to "fly" and reach the stars after her traumatic accident.
About the midriff, as someone who listens to sparkle side chats which is by a Japanese person, she says that kids find midriffs weird, which is why Jasmine is the least popular disney princess in Japan. It is also believed that's why Winx Club isn't in Japan except world of winx

one thing about cure ace i've always loved is the fact that her white coat has red accents, almost reminiscent of a playing card - exactly the theme of the season! maybe im a tad bit biased since dokipre is one of my favorites, but i adore that small detail in ace's design
For Gelato- In her transformation she literally pulls that sock down! It’s so fun!
Cure etoile is meant to be a fly attendant!!! It’s less so meant to representative of their dream but more so their role in the story.

Fresh took it in a new direction on that rule - which is kinda a shame coz I liked that quirk haha

Not quite since Eas is actually human that's part of the whole plot twist of Fresh. Dark Pretty Cure is also kind of a human even if she has no non-transformed form and is never counted as a real Cure. The human only Cures rule isn't fully broken until whoever the first fairy Cure is, not sure haven't watched it.
Even then excluding non-humans from the starting line up preserved a little of the rule's original intent for a while longer. @@alimarie3269

I knew Splash star is gonna be in F 😭. I mean, I also really dislike their designs (ESPECIALLY BRIGHT like the colors are so awful... like what were they thinking 😭.) but also, it's kinda sad considering that splash star is one my favourite seasons :')
My favourite designs for the team is mahoutsukai! They look absolutely beautiful! I'm a sucker for characters that has witch, nature & magic motifs in them. I especially love Felice's design the most. Futari wa (not max heart) designs are also one of my favourites! Sure, they look a lot simple compared to the other seasons but I still think that they're neat! I love kirakira's designs as well. it's pretty creative and has its charm.

I just realized that if they made Cure earth a green and replaced the all the purple parts with green she would kinda look like Palutena from Kid Icarus. I wouldn’t mind because I love Palutena
Smile is one of my favorites season especially for the action, Joker who's a terrifying villain and a good menace, the opening full of energy, the drama like Yayoi episode about her father and the outfits. I love the Cures costumes, they are simple but so adorable 🥰I like their hair, Peace and Beauty have unique hairstyle; i never saw other cures with hair like that. They look so cool!
Very fun video! Regarding Magical's bat wings hair, I always guessed it's because all 3 Mahoutsukai Girls represent different types of Magic Users in their design, Miracle being a typical Magical Girl anime design, Felice a fairy and Magical a traditional witch, hence the bat hair and the cape! Though why the green undertone, I can't think of a reason

Making Cure Melody's skirt did indeed take a LONNNNG time and miles of horsehair braid hahaha. But it was so satisfying to accomplish!
Yeah, your feeling of gold with Sushine makes sense, considering that at first, she was ment to be Gold Precure, where as Moonlight was Silver. Only later it was completlt flipped to normal yellow and purple.
You should try to give Splash Star a watch! It might not have the best costumes, I agree with that, but the show itself was REALLY good!
Cure Felice's design definitely gives off more 'earth' than Cure Earth ironically lol
Oh man... I think Prism might actually be my favorite at the moment! I just love the color scheme on her so much and she looks so cute and elegant at the same time. My very very close runner ups though are Selene (another great color scheme, perfect shades of purple and white) and Gelato (she pulls off the animal motif the best of her season, love the giant hair representing the lion mane and the little crown because. Lion. Plus her big shoes and leather jacket with the fluffy collar!!!)
Selene and Prism are my favourites ever, together with Coral (^-^)

the star twinkle designs are SO GOOD like they occupy my mind morning noon and night. absolutely stellar, 10/10, no notes. I was afraid that I had a bit of bias towards star twinkle because it was my reintroduction to pretty cure in my late teenagehood but it still lingers on my mind years later. And the transformations? AMAZING. Cure Milky's especially because her voice is so cute, and the details??? the fact that cure milky's transformation has the water effects because the milky way is also called the "river of heaven" in japanese? and the archery theme in cure selene's transformation because Artemis, goddess of the Hunt, the moon, and archery? UGH i just can't get enough!!!! Star Twinkle will always have my heart fr

About the Suite designs, they've always resembled elements of sheet music to me. Lots of lines and parallels, the straight lines against rounded shapes (ruffles) like music notes. I see it especially in their hair, which curves off and has varying thickness like a clef or stylized staff (kind of like the one in Suite Precure logo). But is it fashion...lmao
My favorite cure design of all time either has to be Cure Cosmo or Cure Whip I know there's some bias in there but I just remember almost crying when I saw their designs revealed for the first time and how perfect I thought they were!
This was a fun watch, it was nice to see a costume discussion that didn't feel just down right mean and hateful, like you were able to explain your reasoning for liking or disliking them in a way that didn't feel like an insult to the designers themselves. Although there are a few Cures I would disagree with the ranking on it was neat seeing how much I agreed with a lot of what you said~ (I think calling Finale a blonde purple is unfair but I think that would get into a color discussion and I don't want to do that lol) Thank you for making! 💖
You asked where the music came in in Melody’s design and, well, her outfit looks like a tutu and tutus = ballerinas = music. At least that’s what makes sense to me.
Beyond that I have a hard time picking a favorite overall design and team designs. Like March is what got me to give Precure a try in the first place but I’m not sure she’s my favorite. And there’s a lot of good team designs as well.
I will say though that I prefer the original Yes costumes to the GoGo ones. I actually like the yellow/cream color and the GoGo costumes are too uniform to the point of being boring to me in the way other team uniforms aren’t.

I personally really like the uniformity of outfits! Like I know it’s not the best design philosophy, but my Sailor Moon influenced brain loves the Smile girls and how they look so fire as a team!! 🩷🧡💛💙💚
At first I felt the same way about the suite designs but after a while they grew on me I really like them 😭
I thought the ombre on cure wing was supposed to represent a colorful ombre of feathers like a sun conure, since his fairy form is a bird!
Wait i didn't even know suite, doki doki, and star twinkle have the same character designer!! They definitely were a three times the charm thing for me, suite and doki doki are my least favorite and star twinkle is my favorite collective designs as well

For me Go Princess Precure have the best designs overall. They are different from each other yet very cohesive, their transformations are GORGEOUS (Twinkle's is the best of the whole franchise)

6:17 I'm fairly sure Wing's gradiant is ment to replicate the fethers of a blue and yellow macaw. One of the smartest and longest lived species of birds, their sigature color scheme is pretty much unique in nature, so giveing it to the Bird cure makes sense.
29:06 In my country a failing grade is considered anything less than 6 out of 10. Grades can go as low as 0 in theory but most sane teachers don't go lower than 4, maby 3 if you didn't even try.

I started watching Precure with Kira Kira and my best friend joined me while Delicious Party was airing so now we always watch together. We want to watch a lot more together and this video showed us who had some really stellar designs!

Love your vids, so I was excited to check this out when I got the chance! If I go by nostalgia, Heartcatch wins, but I absolutely love the KiraKira designs sooo much and they are def my fav designs overall. I'm a sucker for food and animals, so to combine both won me over immediately! I love how colorful the Tropical Rouge designs are, I somehow missed that season airing, but the designs immediately made me want to check it out, so I just started watching it recently. Healin' Good I think is very underrated design wise and as a season. I really enjoy it, something about it is very... healing for lack of a better word lol, but like you said, I think it suffers because it was sandwiched between two very interestingly designed seasons. TwinkleStar and Tropical Rouge are both so bright and colorful and match the themes of their respective seasons so well.
I definitely think that the splash star designs are the worst, and I'm just now finding out that they're not new forms of cure black and white, but completely different characters??
As for the best, definitely star twinkle I love them all so much 🥺 Probably recency bias but I think that majesty is one of my favourites too :)
Omg I just have to tell you how much I love your channel! I used to be obsessed with the precure franchise when I was younger! I've recently gotten back into watching precure and I'm so happy to see a black content creator with an intrest in the series! My inner child is screaming!! (Even though I'm like, only 17 😭)
Cure Mermaid is my all time favorite Precure design, although for favorite team its a toss up between Kira Kira and Star Twinkle.
I think Cure Precious is right Japanese Food
While Cure Spicy I think Korean because many of Korean people eat spicy foods.

Love when the fringes venture into Yu-Gi-Oh hair territory, like with Cure Moonlight and Cure Chocolat.
I have like, a stream of thoughts I've compiled underneath, sorry for the length.
I like Shiny Luminous' outfit and twintails, but that fringe.... who cleared that, who did her so dirty, her head looks like an egg yolk. Have to agree with Bloom/Bright, whoof those colours. Love Egret/Windy's hair so much however.
Star Twinkle designs are so peak you're so right!! But yes Cure Cosmo could definitely have been taken further. I do like how it looks "simple", but her theme is supposed to be galaxies! The cosmos! For a late member addition, she was a bit of a disappointment for me when her design was revealed. Ironically it does make her stand out when grouped with the rest of the girls with how streamlined it is compared to the others. And I adore her hair, always love when Cures have braids.
When I tell you I screamed when Cure Coral was revealed, I was so excited to get a Cure with a proper hat. I love Cure La Mer's design so much, but agreed on the head pearls they look a bit odd, rest of her is perfection in my eyes.
Healin Good designs have always felt kinda detached from the theme of the season. It's there in the power-up and in the transformation with the white coats, which are so cool, but I wish they could have incorporated the coat design into the final ones. As is they look kind of basic and disjointed to me. Not to mention the character meant to be Earth herself being a purple cure, you would never guess just looking at her if you didn't know.
Mahou Tsukai's designs for Miracle and Magical have always felt a little lacking to me when it has one of the most interesting settings of every Precure series. I wish they looked a little more 'magical' or unique.

My favorite is Cure Flora's design and my favorite team design is Go Princess. I'm a bit biased but it's one of my favorite seasons so yeah. Also what are your thoughts on the form changes from Happiness Charge and Mahou Tsukai since you included Cure Bright and Cure Windy's designs?
The chemical x by cherish side note was a nice touch. I legit just got food so I can watch this so excited lol and girl cosplay as her and I didn’t vibe with majesty until I saw the transformation and I was like oh yeah she’s cool and I also like the purple they used 😊
Also I’ve been watching AzenZone review healing good and tbh it probably has the best character development of any series. Not a fan of the art style or the fairies being needed to transform but it’s very good. Like it’s a medical version of go princess but different lol but the coats were suppose to be like doctor jackets but I also don’t like fountain’s design. Hair is ok but the button half could be better. Tbh but sparkle is kind of my fav of that season, but tbh watching the seasons make me appreciate the cures more but precure 5 was there take at like a super sentai (power rangers) for girls another one of toeis show

I feel like Cure Parfait's design is more coherent than we give it credit for, I mean MAYBE IM REACHING, but I love that the shape and color of her dress almost look like an upside down glass, and the different colored ruffles are almost like different fruit spilling out of the parfait. Idk about the hooves tho...
