He must have watched one of my videos. Except for copper sulfate (?) the process he describes is exactly how it's done. But he didn't mention platinosis. A disease of the skin eyes and lungs for which there is no cure. Symptoms can take months or even years to appear. Processing these cats for the precious metals that they contain is dangerous. Not suitable in any way shape or form for the back-yard hobbyist. Also, buyers beware; thieves will pass an acid solution through the cat and remove most of the metals from the substrate then sell them on eBay. You can tell if a used cat has been processed in this manner. It will appear bright and shiny with patches of fresh rust on the outer casing and the substrate will appear clean from the acids.

Cut the crap. My neighbor's F-350 truck cat-converter was stolen a month ago while I was awake on my laptop around 3:30am, even though I had my camera setup looking out at the court area towards my neighbor's house it was only when the thief made a bunch of loud grinding noises that I became of aware of something wrong and looked at my camera screen. By the time I realize what was going on he was running across the court with the cata-converter and I got up to get my shoes on and grabbed my crossbow to go outside, but the thief had ran off down the street to his getaway car and was long gone... took him less than 2 minutes to cut through and run off, while it took me 30 seconds to get ready and go outside, that's how fast this thief stole the cat-converter. And my neighbor slept through it all, he had no idea how it happened until I showed him the grainy video I captured of the thief.
So in my opinion it is better to have a very sensitive car alarm because that will work better to alarm you and scare off thief... putting more metal around your cat-converter is a waste of time because dude will cut through it with ease if he knows what he's doing.

Despite what everyone thinks, CO2 is a requirement for life on Earth. So it's really not a bad gas for a car to give off. Plants breathe it in and exhale oxygen, which is the gas we have to breathe. Also, plants turn the carbon they retain into food that animals(including humans) eat.

Members have little patience for impatient noobs who want everything handed to them. 2) Before BEGINNING any chemical processes to refine metal, you MUST learn (by reading) the two most important aspects of refining: safety and reduction of hazardous waste to nonhazardous waste.
