    Your instructions are so clear and straightforward that I bought a new Raspberry Pi 5 with a Conbi 2 and was able to move all my Zigbee devices from smartthings to Homebridge and to homekit, thank you for such a clear video.
    I do have a request, I also bought a Zooz 700 Series Z-Wave Plus S2 USB Stick to add a few Zwave devices, and I have been struggling to get this working, can you do a video on how to add Zwave devices alongside this setup in this video? I'd greatly appreciate that.

    Firstly, thank you Eddie for amazing videos. Secondly, just wanted to share that I hit a problem after running the script with getting containers running... the fix was that to reboot the Pi after the system update and before installing Dockers. Of course this means running script lines manually.

      Once the setup is complete > go to homebridge.local:8581 > click on the 3 dots > Backup / Restore > Click on Browse > select the backup downloaded from your Synology Instance ....

    @EddiedSuZa great video an couple of questions:
    1 - When installing Scripted this way, do you lose performance over installing it on it's own Pi ? In both cases I'm using an RPI4B
    2 - When installing the apps instead of RPI OS using your method here, are they the 64 bit versions or not ? Trying to understand the underlying differences between this and your Scrypted + Raspberry Pi - HomeKit Secure Video Made Easy For You, April 2023 video
    3 - Now you've been using many of these different configurations, what do you believe IS the best setup on RPI's for Scripted ?
    Thanks again !

    • @eddiedsuza
      @eddiedsuza  Před rokem

      Here are my replies
      1 - I have not seen any lag. Theres only 20% to 30% increaed resource usage. Nothing that stops the server
      2 - The video I had released was for someone who just wanted to run a dedicated scrypted server. I had shown that they are options available on how one wants to setup Scrypted. Its completely personal preference.
      3 - Pi 4 with 4GB is the best setup .. You take advantage of the raw power and bang for your buck

      Hello Kelly - I purchased and chose the Pi 4 - 4GB / 32 MicroSD variant in 2019 and the price was around USD 50. At that time that was my budget and it met my needs knowing that Homebridge is not resource hungry and with this video i pushed it more by adding more packages to get most of the available hardware resources. The 32 GB memory card was and is enough. Again not storing any files.
      I think users are purchasing higher end models due to availability (which i think is the prime reason) and shortage for lower end models.

Sadly I literally order all the parts the day u uploaded this video with the 1 year update so I ordered the Conbee 2 instead of the Sonoff Zigbee adaptor, I did got a 120GB SSD instead of the 64GB. Now my big question the video u made 1 year ago u installed Hoobs n on this new update u decided to not use Hoobs but to install Homebridge new version that makes things a lot more easier for the other add ones like Zigbee2MQTT, Scripted, n others that’s why u recommended Pi 4 type B with 4GB, so in ur opinion I prefer/record to use this method instead of Hoobs?
    Ow, also 2 question; I did not order a power supply because I own a lot of them with different Voltage n Amps, I was going to go online n do the math to come up with it but what kind of power are u using on ur DIY Hub?

Honestly, I’m not sure what I did differently. I used my computer to make a raspian card. During the setup, I went to the smart home (homebridge) version, just as before I believe. I was surprised to have no raspian load page. Perhaps I need to backtrack and load raspian and then add homebridge? All I can assume at this point.

      You will need to use the latest base image since Heimdall is using 64bit .. Alrternatively - you can use this hub.docker.com/r/b4bz/homer

    Please help Eddie or anyone else. I have a HOOBS box (rpi 4). I used the Raspberry Pi Imager to first format my SD card and then I followed the steps in this video and installed Homebridge to the SD card. However, after putting the card in my RPI and turning it on, my RPI won’t show up on my network. It’s connected through ethernet but the ethernet lights on the rpi are off. So I have no ip address and no way of getting to Homebridge. I’ve tried to reflash it 6 times by now and I’m out of options.

    hi dear eddie
    Well, I'll tell you about the raspberrypi that you recommend
    I already installed the image as you indicate and everything is fine
    I already put the sd card in the rospberry
    The problem is that I connect it to a tip link mesh and it gives me an ip
    I put it and I can not access the hombridge page
    I look for it in the LanScan application and the IP does not appear
    What do you recommend me
    as always thank you very much

    I have gone through all of the steps precisely from scratch installing a fresh setup of everything and following your video and script exactly, but for some reason I keep getting hung up. As soon as I get to "ls -l /dev/serial/by-id" I am met with "ls: cannot access '/dev/serial/by-id': No such file or directory" and if I type "ls" I just get "ls mosquito". I am using a ConbeeII stick still. Any thoughts?

    • @gstudio01
      @gstudio01 Před 9 měsíci

      @@eddiedsuza even when following "sudo ls -1 /dev/serial/by-id" I get the same response. Through some digging it sounds like when you run the update on the Pi there are some issues with the Conbee II connecting. I have the Sonoff setup ordered and will give that a shot when it arrives, hopefully with more success. But this may be a common issue for people with the Conbee setup running this process and flashing with the latest Homebridge setup.

    • @gstudio01
      @gstudio01 Před 9 měsíci

      Figured it out. There's an issue with ConbeeII and newer versions of the Pi software. I rolled back to earlier versions, say in December 2021, and the ConbeeII stick works and devices sync to it.

    Just received my Raspberry Pi 4 today and initially followed your Scripted installation. Mid-way through I found this video where Homebridge was the server on which Scripted will be installed. This would be better, giving me more Homekit capability for more devices. I reset the Memory Card following these video steps. When I get to the terminal screen in the video at 9:20 it is asking me for a password. I have tried many different passwords and it's all not working. Meaning I can't get to the step where to enter your script command to install all plugins like docker etc. Can you help me solve my issue?
