I’ve done multiple floating shelves inspiring builds on my channel, I think a live wood floating shelve one needs to be made in the near future using this jig!
Good job on the jig I've got Jay with sliding table that will cut 4 ft long logs at 12 in around been million logs for the last couple days but it's fun to watch and thanks for the input
This is exactly what I was looking for. I had a similar idea in my head but now I know it will work and be even better with your upgrade ideas. Thanks for the informative video.
I like the drawer slides used on the jig. I am looking to build my first router table here soon and think that may be a great idea to keep the fence straight with easy adjustments? I could be missing something but it seems like a wonderful idea to me. Add a track in the middle to tighten down the fence like is on your jig here and perhaps a flat measuring tape stuck on the top to measure quick adjustments. There may even be a way to do click adjustments for very fine movement like Harvey uses on their expensive router table but I will have to think on that one.
Old post I know hope you see it. I just got my band saw with the intention of cutting bowl blanks and log milling. Like the way your jig is set up but since I'm new I had a question. At around the 5:10 mark where you use that block against your fence is that to keep it from binding or something like what is done on a table saw and a rip fence when you have several pieces and want repeatability? Another question is could you just set your fence whatever distance away from the blade and just cut slices like a deli ham? Moving the log without the sled. (Once you would have your log squared up)

Great jig, this is awesome milling logs with the current high cost of lumber! Keep up the great work. 👍🏼

Now I have double band saw envy! Nice design work!
Thanks Ted. It's amazing how much useful wood is in those chunks of firewood!

Very well done, Sir!

That was good, thanks!
Do you think of using left hand side of table saw instead of right hand side ? Any advantage?
