John peel did so much for music.... Should be a statue of him
The Bodysnatchers were awesome! This is brilliant stuff!!!! Miranda Joyce's saxophone playing is stunning! Five stars! *****
The boiler still haunts me all 30+ years later
Terry Hall still influencing my actions after death. RIP.
Epic sound, love the sax 🇬🇧😎🎷
There are no words! Straight outta late 60s base-thumping Ska!
late 60ts thumping ska ??????? late 60ts was rock-steady and reggae
Classy recording...the quality is exceptional.
I've been waiting 40 years to hear that again. It didn't disappoint ;-)
Loved the Bodysnatchers but never heard a couple of these songs before. Didn't know they performed The Boiler !
There are a few different Specials bootlegs from August of 1981 where Rhoda comes on stage and does 'The Boiler' with them. Very haunting.
Never knew they did a peel session, great quality btw.
They did at least two. Other one is really good too.
Classic session.
Listen to that BASS!!!
Dreamy ain't it?
Radio stations used to be so cool
The Bodysnatchers were such a unique sound back in 79. Its true that the 2-Tone/Ska thing wasn't bound to last, so its no surprise that The Bodysnatchers didn't exactly take off. Still, Rhoda's vocals are a joy and if they could have strung enough material to make an album back then, who knows.
Yes Ryan i so love The Bodysnatchers. I got to see them backing The Selector along with Holly and the Italians early March 1980 at Hemel Hempstead pavilion. I have always said to myself that The Bodysnatchers could of done an album based on their, A and B sides of their singles , The Legendary John Peel sessions, Dance Craze album live tracks . There is enough great material to release a great album for sure 👌
@@nigelbabb2516 I saw them supporting the Selecter too, at Cambridge Cornexchange. I spoke to Miranda afterwards and was more than a little smitten. At the time I thought they were musically a bit flimsy but I have had to reappraise my opinion. I now get the whole female band thing, I was only 16 and had a lot to learn.
I passively listened to Two Tone stuff since everyone goes through that phase... But when I came across The Bodysnatchers, I was blown away. Can't believe they only put so few songs out...!
top quality sound !
Superb band, I have a vague memory of them from my childhood. They deserved to be as well known as Madness, Bad Manners, The Specials and the other 'famous' UK Ska bands
not ska bands
Interesting comparing their version of The Boiler to what Dammers & Rhoda then released 18 months later. Great sound quality, cheers for uploading.
I had no idea (until now) the Bodysnatchers wrote this, I'd always assumed it was a Dammers song. I'm slightly gobsmacked and really impressed!
Dommage qu'on ne connaisse pas assez les bodysnatchers.. Les belles stars. Bof bof.. À part le premier morceau. Hiawatha. Au top
Fantastic upload, good sir! Thank you!!!
Great band!
I saw their second concert at a place called the Windsor Castle(?) off the Harrow Road. We talked to them.Must have been late '79...They were very good. Most of them went off to be pop stars on Stiff as The Belle Stars, if memory is right...
I think the Windsor Castle gig they opened up for Shane MacGowan’s old band The Nips?
No recollection of The Nips that night!

cheers . it was available before but not in that quality. all your uploads are excellent btw!
Brillant
its 40 years ago, but so 'of today'.............bring it all back I say.
I really liked The Bodysnatchers and was totally in love with Sarah-Jane Owen, probably still am 😅
There isn't a statue of John Peel? That is ridiculous. He deserves a very big one!
Rhoda Darka Old Boiler 🫶
It seems that "Boiler" is where "Parklife" of Blur is coming from.
Great 2tone ska
not ska...skinhead reggae
@@donhue4546 ska mate
@@mrska1 i am not your mate, darling, and you dont know what ska is wind yer neck in and do some re search rather than read of a corn flakes box
Ha ha... Honestly MATE I'm pooing my pants... Ha ha... Utter prick
Any chance of uploading The 2nd session from August 1980?
still missing one track...but will get it soonish or laterish
Did they ever release a full album? R.I.P. John Peel.
He oughta be posthumously knighted, in my humble opinion.
So they had recorded songs or had played enough songs to make an lp, what happened?
Became Bannarama fuckin'hell
Not even close, Bananarama weren't a band, they couldn't play instruments.
5 of them became the Belle Stars
THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THIS IS NICE A CONSOLATION PRIZE FOR THE DISINFORMED.
NOW I HAVE TO SAY THIS BECUZ HE TELLS ME TO EVEN THO YOU MAY LOVE TO HATE IT: REPLACE SIN W/THE CHRIST'S RIGHTEOUSNESS BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE IN THIS TOKEN OF INTERIM. K?
