Legend has it, Larian cast speak with animals on a bunch of real cats and just recorded conversations with them for this.

Not all cats, they have a very distinct feeling of meme instead of actual real life cats and how they act, I've seen cats be more caring then dogs, which is not really shown here. Grubs good, but can have such a bad ending it makes you think Larian doesn't like cats

The first orange cat is gorgeous. Really like the fact he talks like a detective film protagonist (Rorschach monologues immediately come to mind)

I feel so bad for the displacer kitty in the cage, I just wanted to help her :
I let her out w/o even realizing that the circus was corrupt. She just made a break for freedom and didn't cause any problems, so I didnt have to kill her in the fihgt.
I felt bad for every displacer beast. Like.... "You are beautiful, please don't make me have to kil- oh I had to kill them"

Displacer beasts are generally evil aligned, they like hunting down travelers and children who are wandering alone just for fun. There are some cases where a Hunter or Druid befriend one, but they are generally the drow of the cute cat realm.

Idk why Grub makes me tear up. So sweet, so shy, Yenna is such a tragic and heartwarming little addition to camp.
I wish yenna would stop getting kidnapped. It makes me sad for act 3

There's an orphan girl that meets you when you arrive at the village bordering the city. If you are nice to her and give her some money she later invites herself into your camp, accompanied by her gorgeous but shy orange cat

He is my son
It breaks my heart that we can't ask him where he last saw his mother or take him back to camp with us (although if you've adopted the owlbear cub, maybe it's for the best you not bring him back...).
The problem with this cat is that we can't correct them and say we're not they're mother. Devs got sloppy with this one. Always give the player another option.

I love how steelclaw calls the player ‘Furness one’ as if she isn’t bald
Steelclaw (Moonrise Towers cat) actually has dramatically different dialogue if you're playing as the Dark Urge - took me completely by surprise! Though it's a bit heartwrenching.

@@hukihuki4135 She basically says that she's seen the Dark Urge before when they visited Moonrise, and she hissed at them while everyone else was grovelling to them. Durge kicked her in response, and you can apologise for that.

As a DM I love doing cats.
Some are very skittish and shy. Some are so full of themselves even my rogue and bard cannot outboast them. Some are just cute fluffballs while yet others are the murderiest of mittens.
My favorite is one that has adopted the party. A calico Tresym that named itself Magnificence. She is best approached with some degree of deference. She will accept pets if properly flattered, but only in limited quantity as she needs to groom after.

You’d think in a world where speaking to animals is possible, it would be something of a household spell to learn, or at least have a large supply of scrolls for. Immensely useful for everyday life.
Yet only the druids seem to care enough to learn.
Some owners nowadays still don't understand that dogs are intelligent and can speak with buttons, while cats think critically and decipher inflection in our speech. Seemingly only 'good' owners/rangers/druids would realize that

Sharess' sphere of influence includes cats, as something that has stuck around since she was Bast. Nobanion, though pretty much forgotten since 3E, is a divine(-ish) entity of, amongst other things, felines in general and lions in particular.

Sharess is the goddess of cats and hedonism, so drugs and sex as well, fun lore tidbit: Sharess is from Earth, not from Faerun, she's the last remaining Egyptian god, formerly Bastet, and she is a tall golden skin egyptian beauty with cat eyes. Basically the entire egyptian pantheon fell in the wars with Imaskar, but the goddess of sex and cats wandered off and joined the Faerunian pantheon

there is a bowl of milk on Isobel's table (maybe the cleric his majesty mentioned?), i took it and put it in front of His Majesty but unforturnately nothing happened, his majesty walked away.

I'm playing a druid, I'm often a cat! A beautiful, fluffy white cat. I love it! Can't talk to humans while transformed but speak with animals still works and it's a great way to investigate without needing stealth checks or anything, since most hostile creatures don't react to a cat.

Same. First thing in the morning, cast speak with animals, pet scratch, then give my romantic partner a smooch. Then I can venture forth.
They gave His Majesty fur in the latest update and I'm SO SAD about it. He just looks like a generic cat now instead of a hairless cat, which used to really fit the voice as well.
