If you look way to the right it looks like 3-4 people were able to run off the moving ground. I also think the hillside that slid was man made. If you look at the underground to the right it appears to have regular appearing divisions of some sort. Like it was built up over time by people. Making it more likely to succumb to whatever happened underneath.
