Vintage all the way. I love my vtg black lambskin CF. The leather is incredible to the touch and durable. Funny to say, but I can buff anything out of that lambskin no prob despite all the nervous talk about how delicate lambskin is these days. My bag is ~30 yrs old, but I'm sure it'll be around 30 more. Cheers to vintage! 🥂 💕

I was fortunate enough to get mine classic flap before a 3 now 4 price hikes, I think it’s now $2000+ more than what I paid. I got the large size because I like to bring more with me and already had smaller bags. I love it so much and take very good care of it. I wanted the maxi but it’s been impossible to get here for years in the caviar and gold hardware

Idk but I prefer the classic flap black with silver instead of gold. I wish they can at least coat the silver in real ones if the 24k gold was eating them lol
I really want a vintage Chanel but I don’t like used items bc I believe the item keeps the feelings and meaning of the owner aka the soul onto the used item

I really dislike the deflated look on the vintage. I like my bags in great shape and puffy. Plus the gold is too gold to my taste. For these reasons, my bags are from the boutique. I just love classic flaps.
I oddly like the deflated look of the vintage, it makes me feel like my rich fashionable auntie passed the bag down to me 😂 I admit I actually want the vintage and current versions of the classic flap because they look different enough to me and would serve different purposes.
It is true that the 24 carat gold ia soft but iv never seen a vintage chanel bag where the gold has worn off CCs whereas my WOC the gold has started to ware off after just 6 months.
I got my medium black classic flap in caviar in April 2021 just as the shops re-opened after the second Covid lockdown in the UK. Unfortunately I was subject to the first price hike that year but given how many times they’ve gone up since, it’s now £2000 more. At the current price I don’t think I would have ever bought one. I have a friend who has since bought the same bag in 2022 and had to go on a waiting list for it! The price of vintage ones was tempting back in 2020 but i’ve found that even they are now so much more expensive that unless you prefer vintage for the reasons you’ve discussed, price doesn’t really factor as they can be just as much X

My love for Chanel has been since I was very young looking at my older sisters designer magazines. My Chanel collection has grown, especially over covid! The obsession is real, I have 7 bags. I own a very rare silver clutch from the 2012 under the sea catwalk show which is stunning.

Buying Chanel nowadays is just all about the name brand itself. Knowing that Chanel removed real gold chains and logos on its bags in 2008 and changed into plated / gold tone hardware is just ripped off espc how the bag price is skyrocketing but quality just went downhill every year, more production the cheaper the cost they wanna put in. If I ever buy a Chanel, it's not for an investment but buying it for its look.

I’d rather buy Hermes for that kind of money. I have a Chanel bag that I bought years ago and it cost nothing compared to today’s markup. I’ve made my peace with Chanel and will never buy another of their bags again. I have a Birkin and the quality vs Chanel is incomparable

@@luxecollective I got mine in 2017 Fall/Winter. It’s a B35 in the colour Trench. It is a bit big for everyday use, but as a travel bag it’s perfect. I want a B30 next in black and will try at FSH again next time I’m in Paris
