    I've walked the whole circumference of the Dingle Peninsula. I'd highly recommend the Beara Peninsula, if you haven't been. Also the Aran Islands. The south coast of Inishmore has cliffs that are as spectacular as the Cliffs of Moher.

      Great advice! I agree that the Beara Peninsula is beautiful! We tried to go to the Aran Islands in 2007 and the weather did not cooperate. Hopefully I will get another chance sometime 💚

    great video ,but the only thing is connemara and burren are better described as regions than national parks they have national parks contained within them,but they make up tiny % of the respective areas.Ideally they should all be contained within a national park but the state has not the money to buy up huge areas of private land,unless they move to a Uk model rather than a more american model that we have.

    What kind or brand of shoes are recommended?

    • @andreabernhardt
      @andreabernhardt  Před měsícem

      I like Bogs or the Original Muck Boot company for boots. For waterproof tennis shoes or hiking shoes it's hard to find ones I really like. Look for ones that say waterproof (might say goretex). If they say water resistant, they won't keep your feet dry. If there's a brand you like, see if they make waterproof shoes.

    Wondering if you have tips for bus and train travel in Ireland rather than renting a car ? Please & thank you.

    • @andreabernhardt
      @andreabernhardt  Před 2 měsíci

      Bus and train tips
      - We did a train from Limerick to Dublin in 2007 and it worked great
      - Planning is very important as you can't just get up and go, you are more reliant on a time schedule
      - busses run less times on Sundays
      - you may have to walk from a bus stop a ways to get to your destination
      - what luggage you bring is very important cause you have to transport it on a bus and train and walk more
      - when someone says it's just a short distance to walk, double what you are thinking it would take
      - best part is you don't have to drive if you aren't comfortable with it
      - you can take bus tours of popular places
      - It just takes a little more planning and you may not see everything you would like to
      - It is a great way to visit Ireland for the first time though

      @@khadzak7496 totally get it! My sister was my navigator which helped a ton with finding where we were going. You have to do what's comfortable for you. I think you would have an amazing adventure by train, bus or car. It's a magical place!
