    Added a Free Spirits snorkel air cleaner, XR1200X piggyback rear shocks, Biltwell Moto handlebar, Oury handgrips, Corbin Gunfighter seat, Power Commander 5 tuner, bungee bars, rear luggage rack and a Stainless V&H Widow exhaust system to my '10. Brilliant machine!

    Last Friday I traded a Honda even up for a 2009 XR1200 all box stock original with 16,000 miles ...I rode it 1000 miles home ..it doesn't burn any oil and does not leak anything and after I got it home it is still as clean as a brand new one

      How did it work out for you. I am trying to figure out what long term ownership of this bike is like.

    I have an XR1200....you mentioned my other to own goal that many even self proclaimed Harley enthusiasts don't seem to remember; the Xlcr ....specifically with a dual Carb🤤,

      What is your long term ownership of one of these. I have it on my short list of next bikes. That is something I really like is to have a bike few other people have....Typically about 15 years old or so. Suzuki TL1000S, Kawasaki ZRX 1200, Now a Triumph Speed Triple, which oddly enough of all the bikes I ever had this is the one people seem to like the best, I have gotten more compliments and comments on it than all other bikes I owned put together... It's a 2000 Model in Roulette Green ... so I think that pulls people in.

      @@kirkwilson5117 hey Kirk, I plan on owning my XR till I die or possibly till I hear a ridiculous offer for it. It is as close as one of a kind as it generally comes.
      I am right there with you on exclusiveness of Motorcycles, that's what draws me in. I also own 1988 Nt650 gt Honda Hornet, famous for its single side swingarm much like your TripleSpeed!.

    • @KevXRDuke

      @Capt. Nemo ... I own a XR1200. I was saying it is not a XR750. A XR750 is a race bike. I love my XR1200.

    • @KevXRDuke
      @KevXRDuke Před 3 lety +1

      @Capt. Nemo... I am in South Florida. The high was 88 Faranheit. We ride all year but we live on top of a swamp. All of our roads are perfectly straight, on sea level and go north to south and east to west. No curves or hills. The roads are divided by canals. I think you have better riding during the summer. I used to live in Atlanta. The North GA Mountains are fantastic. Some of the best in the USA. The "Tail of the Dragon" is only 3 hours away. I have ridden that road countless times since 1990-1998.

      I am 57. I bought a brand new 1995 ZX6R. I sold my 93 GSXR 750. The 600 was faster than the water-cooled 750. I went down for a wedding to Key West. I was staying at the Curry Mansion. Long story but I went next door to the Oak Beach Inn for a beer. I started talking to the manager. We knew about 20 people. She introduced me to the owner. We knew a bunch of people. He knew the owners of the places where I worked up at a ski area in NY and the place that I bartended on the Jersey Shore for almost 10 years. I was bartending on Palm Beach at the time. I was offered a job on the spot. 2 weeks later I was bartending on Duval Street. The original Oak Beach Inn was in NY. That was where the Long Island Ice Tea was first made. The owner made them in the back. He put them in empty liquor bottles. I never knew the recipe. His name was Bob Matherson. He was a nut job. He used to get drunk and tell me stories about how the mob blew up one of his bars. He said it was in the movie Goodfellas. He wrote a book about the OBI. The owners of Sloppys, Rick's, Hogs Breath and the Bull had a thing going and hated him. Any bands or DJs that played at the OBI were banded from the other bars. Supposedly. I was seeing the bartender I worked, a cute little girl from West Virginia. Bob used to get drunk and get nasty with her. He was 3 times her age. I told him to knock it off. Half the time he didn't even remember. I stayed in Key West for around a year. I had enough.
