Mahalo for posting the whole Wahine Kahiko. I watched as much of the Merrie Monarch as I could stay awake for and I loved that you presented dances that represented the project many of us participated in of digitizing the 19th century Hawaiian language newspapers. I wish you had included your explanation of what you were presenting. As an Oakland person, I am personally very proud of what you do and I love my fond memories of being in the Kupuna ohana back in the day.

Kia ora! Thank you for posting up the whole performance! I love AHA! Kumu Mark is innovative and is really developing the art of Hula. We are exploring the same thing with Kapahaka. We love the traditional but we push the boundaries by experimenting with choreography and how we deliver the song, weather its through song or action. I think what he’s been doing is amazing as he is presenting what Hula can look like and where it could go! I aint no expert but every year I love what he brings and I always watch it from home in Aotearoa. We may live far feom Keawe o ke mōkū but Hula speaks to māori! We are fans of Kapa Hula, and this year I got to fufil my wish by attending MM, we sat in section B and had the priviledge of witnessing Kanaka Maoli share your Craft with everyone. Thank you again for posting the whole performance you deserve a blimmin double for that one! Ngā mihi nui and Mahalo!
