How to Cook Korean Food Simply and Easily: Pine Nut Porridge (Jatjuk)

  • Hello everyone! This is HK. This is my sixth CZcams video. I hope you enjoy it. You do not have to go to a Korean grocery store to get the ingredients. You can get all the ingredients at an American grocery store. Make sure to subscribe, like, and turn on your notifications ^^!
    Pine Nut Porridge, called Jatjuk, is one of the most popular porridges that help patients or tired/weak people to be recovered. It is mild, nutritious, and easily digestible. Most of all, it has a very deep and delicate taste!
    Here are the ingredients and directions:
    Ingredients
    ➢ ½ cup peeled pine nuts
    ➢ 1 cup sweet, soaked rice
    ➢ ½ tsp salt
    ➢ 2 cups water
    Directions
    1. Soak your sweet rice at least 2-3 hours prior to attempting this recipe.
    2. Blend all the ingredients together, except for the salt.
    3. Turn the heat on to medium-high heat and stir continually.
    4. When it bubbles, lower the heat.
    5. It will start to get thick after about 10-15 minutes.
    6. Add in salt.
    7. Pour the porridge into a small bowl and decorate with pine nuts as you want.
    8. Enjoy!
