How do you go from six strand embroidery floss to only a tiny sewing thread? Do you break up the embroidery floss to making a single sewing thread?

Yes, other threads can be used too like yarn but the effect of the finished item may not be what you're looking for. Maybe you would like to try cotton sewing thread. Hope it helps.
