    TIP: when you start your FHDC, make sure you reach a measurement that ends EVENLY (adding one extra FHDC won’t make a huge difference! it’s very minimal) !! you will see why when you get to making the keyhole part, saves you the headache 😅

The measurement of my top came to 9 inches, the same as in the video but my first measurements was 5 not 4 inches so the top did not taper in very much, I’m also wider so when doing the hole, the sections were very wide! @@livneil8332 round it off lower, so in your case make 31 stitches, that way there will just be one spare sticht in the middle but that is fine, since it will still be asymmetrical

    • @brittanyalicecrochet
      @brittanyalicecrochet  Před 3 lety +5

      Oh wow thank you so much! Sorry this is a late reply, I just came across it so you’ve probably already finished the top… But, what you would do is take 65/2 = 32.5. I would then subtract 2, so 32.5-2= 30.5. Since it’s not possible to have half of a stitch, one side of your top would have 30 stitches, while the other side would have 31. This would barely be noticeable if at all in the finished product :) again, sorry for the late reply and thank you for the kind comment!

    i love the idea of this top -- but because my measurements are a little larger than yours (my foundation chain was about 30 inches stretched) and the top of the 2 portions beside the keyhole were still really wide once i finished, even with decreasing. (for reference, my stitch count before starting the 2 portions was was 76, so that divided by 2 is 38-2=36, compared to your 25). i hope this makes sense! any tips?

      ahh, okay i see what you're saying, what i would do is add 4 rows to the first decreasing "section" in the keyhole cutout. this will in turn make the cutout slightly longer, but i think that will help your overall width issue - OR i would continue decreasing for another 4 or so rows before making the keyhole cutout so the width isn't as much of an issue. thank you for letting me know you had some trouble with it though and if there's anything else i can do to help you :)

    Hi! I love this tutorial and the simplicity of it! I’m an absolute beginner and started crocheting only a couple days ago so I’m not very good 😅, I’m making this top for my friend but I’m having trouble. In the beginning, for the FHDC, if the original measurement b is 22”, how many chains would that be?

    • @mariestrada9557
      @mariestrada9557 Před 2 lety +1

      Just keep making your stitches and keep measuring until you reach your length. The amount of stitches depends on your tension and what size yarn you choose to use.

      if i remember correctly, that's simply how i was measuring where to start the beginning of the decrease. i made this so long ago though, i can't remember entirely!
