Dungeness Crabbing from Shore (Crab CATCH & COOK)

- Even though it's December, the dungeness crabbing on the Oregon Coast continues to be really good. On this trip I decided to use a foldable square trap you can cast with a big fishing rod from the shore, which I had not done crabbing in many years. So let's go do some bank crab fishing to see if we can catch a big December dungeness crab!

Don’t feel bad! I just got my first crab trap from them and did the same thing as I couldn’t get the line to budge so thought it was a packaging tool. I wish you had a video showing how to fix it as I’m not quite sure how it’s supposed to go back on! Even better, maybe they could include some instructions!!!

Don’t have to setup those traps 😂 just open the package and attach to snap swivel.. I learned that the hard way as well! I like using my pole and 2 small folding hand line traps over big traps sometimes from the piers and bridges.
at this specific location I had better luck driving down the bay a 1/2 mile or so to the free parking pull off. Caught 2 keeper on my pole
I always learn the hard way!
That was different, and pretty fun! Not much better than seafood caught today, eaten today.

@@WillyFish Hmmm! Great question. Personally, I love a good seafood soup, but crab cakes are pretty awesome.
Your pole will actually look like a sturgeon bite when one is mess with you.. hahha funny when i was typing this you said that! Haha just the tap tap part..

Did it but with no fishing pole…just full send into the water by hand with rope..got a sore arm and no crab…bad timing I guess..netarts bay 2 weeks ago…killed it in garibaldi off the piers tho (with a pot)..
Right on! those piers can be good!
@WillyFish we caught 9 in 2hrs ...but it was cold ...high tide is where it's at in garibaldi
