  • In this video, I've done a live as I go type VLOG running the Trinnov Optimizer calibration for the first time. There was some struggling and learning points for sure along the way, but this device continues to be an incredibly powerful home theater tool. I look forward to listening to it with some movies now, post calibration, and really put it to fun work.

    Thanks for the video, i did my (32) last weekend, and great to see your questions were mine also. Now gonna have another go, but with a little more confidence. i was a Marantz user, and for sure this is at a whole new level, sound wise too. Loving the auro3D when compared to Atmos. Much i have to learn.

    Replaced my Denon 8500 with a Trinnov A32. WOW. NIGHT AND DAY. The Denon is like a toy in comparison. Never heard surround sound like I am now. If you have a good system, the Altitude is a MUST HAVE.

      For sure the Trinnov is the superior product. It should be at 6x the price. :) I think it's a little much to call an $18k+ processor a "must have" for a "good system" though. There are tons of amazing processors between the Denon level and the Trinnov level and tons of people have amazing theater spaces that are not $100k rooms with the budget for a device like this.

      @Fluterra Před 2 lety +1

      @@Techthusiasm I'm not considering the cost. The Trinnov is a "must have" for anyone who wants to build a world-class theater. Nothing else comes close to reproducing multi-channel audio the way it was meant to. Of course, the price will prohibit this for most - but don't say it's not required because you cannot afford it. There are many systems that are not world-class that still sound good and bring joy to their owners.

      I think you are debating semantics, but sure, not considering cost, absolutely buy a Trinnov. I'll take a JVC NZ9 and some Focal Utopia too while we're at it. :)
      You comment as if I dislike Trinnov because of the price. I don't. I think it is awesome and does things that are extremely powerful and unique. And, yes, I could afford it. I don't judge the value or performance of things based solely on their price. Just because something costs a lot doesn't mean it is intrinsically good, just as something being less expensive doesn't automatically make it a good value.
      I think you are a Trinnov owner that feels slighted because my opinion was a bit lukewarm based on my user experience. You shouldn't feel that way. It's an amazing piece. Enjoy it! At the same time, maybe think about how to be more inclusive. There are amazing home theater experiences out there to be had that don't require a Trinnov.

      @@Techthusiasm you are the one considering price and using that to affect your judgement. You can't say "I don't judge the value or performance of things based solely on price" - you are exactly doing that when you say 'I am thinking about inclusivity'... I think you need to decide what type of reviewer you will be. You are either going to do a review based solely on the merits of that product, without concern for price, or you will review the best products at varying price points.

      @@Fluterra point taken. I'll consider your feedback, thanks.
      For the subject at hand, the Trinnov is a great product. Period. It can do things hardly any products in this space can do with power and flexibility.
      Value is real interesting concept though but is very individualized to one's means and needs.

    Can't wait to hear for the result of before and after of your calibration, after you watch a few movies. Really , really good information video. I think if I ever purchase one, I will have to contact you for the calibration part on the computer. I'm not as advance as you on the computer programing. The Dirac Live room calibration is a lot easier, and people friendly, compare to the Trinnov.

    Thanks

      Thanks! I don't remember. I never looked at the files on a computer. Just put the included USB key into the Trinnov and then loaded the file.

      I have two videos recorded and ready covering what I liked and what had room for improvement. I might post those into next week. I’ll also record a final thoughts type video this month. It is out of my install though now. I’ll be making a big current zone2 setup follow up video shortly too.

      There is literally no comparison to sound quality between a Trinnov and Denon/Marantz/etc, if this reviewer is being honest he will say so. Many cannot afford it, so they come up with tons of reasons why they are not getting it. Every objective review (Stereophile just named it the best component of 2021, period), is clear that the Altitude is in class of 1. You can whine about the UI all you want, but the sound quality is phenomenal. No comparison to my Denon 8500.

      @Techthusiasm  Před 2 lety +1

      My pleasure. No worries on the other comments. Only very little of the comments/feedback on my videos has been negative, which has been very nice to read. I think the Trinnov is a very great, but also very expensive unit and sometimes folks don't like to see critiquing of something they spent a lot of $$$ on.

    You should have used the Trinnov Mac APP for this, NOT a web browser! Come on, bro.

      I wasn't aware there was an app. Pretty nice! They need to release this also for iPhone and iPad. Here's the info for anyone looking for it: www.trinnov.com/en/blog/posts/new-free-trinnov-mac-os-app/.
