Thanks again Dave. That was a great walkthrough of the calibration process. I’m hoping to order a Nova at the end of the month, so that was very timely 😊
Glad it was helpful! Be sure to buy your Trinnov at Sweetwater and use my link, to help support these videos! I appreciate it!

As always great content man. Hugs from Colombian colleague.
Cheers Man! 🔥
Appreciate it! Thanks for your support!
So I'm confused about the ethernet connection... if you are not using Dante, why do you have to connect it to a router?
So the Nova can connect to the desktop application
Hello! Quick question, is the AES out on the Nova Pre or Post calibration? Would like to connect the AES out of the Nova to the AES in of the TC Clarity for constant metering.
Yes, I believe it is but I would check with Trinnov to be sure.
@@MixingMusicAnalog Thanks, Would love to see you a video on using the Trinnov Via Dante, as an interface.
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
Hi Dave! Can I have multiple sets of speakers connected through a splitter to output 1-2 (only one license) and switch between profiles where I have different sets of measurements for each set of speakers?
I dont believe so but you can certainly try it
@@MixingMusicAnalog but I can have different presets for different rooms right? What would be the difference If I just plug in a pair of different speakers and just change the preset where measurements are stored?
If I have an apollo twin as my interface what level should I have it as when I do my calibrations so that I don't risk blowing anything out but still making sure it's all correct?
Watch the calibration video I did for the nova
@@MixingMusicAnalog Is this not the calibration video for the Nova? You spoke about the level being -20db for your room which is fine but I'm asking when I have an interface that has a monitor control as my in to the nova what level should I be putting that for my calibration so that it doesn't blow out the speaker but enough information is being sent to the nova for the calibration to work correctly.
How would it work in untreated bedroom?
It wouldn't work well. You NEED some basic acoustic treatment. If you dont treat the room, then you are wasting your money and not really serious about mixing music. Stay on headphones
@MixingMusicAnalog thanks for reply, my room is small and it has studiofoam acoustic panels on the walls and carpet on the floor, it doesnt have any echo but only missing bass traps, would nova work well without bass traps? Thank you
@MixingMusicAnalog and ceiling is pretty low...
Wow, that restriction of having to buy additional licenses to get the correction on the additional speakers is absolutely ridiculous... That's just greed right there... I should be able to buy the device once and not have to buy additional software licenses to fully use the entirety of the hardware.... I don't think I will be a Trinnov Customer anytime soon.
Understand that if you wanted the older version the ST2 PRO that unit was about $1500 more (about 6K). With the NOVA, they made it less expensive for people who does not need multiple sets of speakers and its expandable for extra speaker sets down the road. So you are only paying for the features you need. It's actually a good idea and allows more people to get into a Trinnov at a lower cost than ever before. If you don't agree, thats totally cool and a Trinnov isn't for you.
@@MixingMusicAnalog I would add that everyone who hears Trinnov becomes their customer :)
Does the Nova need to be connected via a router? My room does not have a ethernet connection..
Yes, it does
very nice !!!! did they fixed the latency problem ?
not for recording but it is in the works and will be a software update which will fix the issue, coming later this year
How can you incorporate the Nova with a Grace designs m905 monitor control
not sure. I dont have access to that controller. That is a question for Trinnov.
I just bought it and waiting to arrive. I have two set of speakers, 2.1 and 2.0. I see you have the same. Did you have to purchase the license of every output in the nova. Or just two stereos licences.
I have all 3 sets of liecenses
Dave, what about that chair you left when calibrating? Is it suppose to be or not be there for measurements?
It should not matter as far as I know
So, the Trinnov Nova sits between my normal monitor output and my monitors? The setup looks easy enough. Does the Trinnov support wireless internet connectivity?
I dont kn wi f it supports wireless. I'll have to check that. My gut tells me no.
On the Trinnov site, it says not recommended. It could work in theory, assuming you don't run any audio over the Dante interface. It's listed on Audinate's site.
Perhaps it in the source input for the computer. I’m thinking about getting one of these
I dont understand what you mean.
Great Video! You answered so many of my questions. I am closer now to getting one. One BIG thing for me, I require ultra low latency for recording virtual instruments. Does the bypass switch eliminate the latency of Nova while recording? Also, will this work with my Apollo Twin X just as you did in this video using only Analog ins and outs? If so can I still use the Apollo like normal (e.g. volume, mute, etc.)or will I have to adjust everything in the Nova App? Thanks!
Currently, there is too much latency to use the Nova when recording. That is being addressed by Trinnov and there will be a firmware update to fix that in the near future. Keep im mind that the Trinnov was designed for mixing not recording, but it will be fix soon. Yes, the bypass will reduce the latency and I am not sure if it would be low enough. That is a question you should ask Trinnov directly. Yes, you can use you Apollo for the volume control etc. you don't need to do that in the Nova app if you dont want too.
Thank you for doing these videos!
Thank you for doing these videos!
Great video Dave! I did not see where the nova gets plugged into the computer. Is that correct or did I miss something. Thanks again.
it does not connect to your computer.
It's Dante enabled, so you just connect it to your network. The software should find it, assuming they're both on the same network.
How much does it cost to add each extra pair of output licenses?
around $1,000 USD per pair
Nice , we need trinnov st2 pro vs Trinnov Nova ??
That was in the unboxing video. I compare it feature for feature. The sound is EXACLTY the same
I thought I would need to buy another license to set up a sub with my 2 focals since technically its 3 channels.....i guess not?
If you connect your sub to your main speakers and then the the Nova, no you dont need that 2nd license because the only physical connection to the Nova is the main focals. However, then you dont have as much control over your sub from the Nova application. So things like cross over points, target curves, volume of sub etc wont be able to be used, but you can still use the sub.
oh! so then I DO need another license for 2.1 if i want to use the nova to actually set up my sub properly. @@MixingMusicAnalog
Yes, if you want to take full advantage and control over the sub, you need the additional license
