- On the night he's planning to propose to his girlfriend, Joseph and his friend Derek decide instead to play with a mysterious spirit board. Little do they know that there's something waiting for them, with a proposal of its own...
Shot in 2012 (pre-Ouija movie), we're pleased to FINALLY be able to present our 1st short film- SUMMON! Inspired by stories we used to watch on shows like Tales from the Darkside and Monsters, as well as ghost movies like The Changeling and The Legend of Hell House, this is best experienced with the resolution high, sound up, and of course, the lights off!

I really liked how the comedy elements did not undermine the scares, absolutely entertaining on both sides.

Of the short horror movies, this is definitely one of the better ones. The acting was great and we didn't have to wait through long shaky camera takes of people with flashlights yelling at each other. Nice story, nice acting, great photography work!

I watched this short film a while ago, and it stuck with me so much that today I spent ages scrolling through CZcams's short horror films, trying to find it again. I think the line before they get Joseph is what really sets this apart.

Great short film! The beginning was very good, right into the action. I loved the little details e. g. the friend bored by the board's background story and the small LED candle.

A parable about modern LTRs? Well done! The dialog is spot on (like the performances) and the story was compelling. Great tension as he gets aspirin. Fine film!

Hard to find any glaring flaws. Only suspect thing was his roommate, after confronting creepy looking figures outside her front door, and then behind her (dangerous intent), would worry for a split second about picking up her groceries, instead of getting to the relative safety of upstairs, especially after being warned by her roommate.

First off he said glaring flaws and second I watched this over a few three or four time and couldn't find mouth-to-speech flaws either.
I dig these short stories - so much better than the full length jobs that degenerate into shrieks and slime and such but when it comes to the ouija boards, that scares the bejesus out of me. Too many people who have messed with these things have become basket cases.
Playing with spirit boards is the same thing as playing with a chainsaw while you scratch your balls, not a good idea.

The room has lights on.He switches off all the lights but uses candles to keep safe in an illuminated circle...SWITCH ON THE LIGHTS JO BOY!( i know its a low budget video)

I love watching these independent short films. I’m a film maker , Ivy Leaf Film Productions. Couldn’t keep finding the finance for my projects, so I just keep writing screen plays, short story’s and now 5 novels. No more movies though...no money! I have one called “The Warrens Wraith” and I must say it is one of a kind, never been thought of and could really be made into a full length illustrated story...it’s scary as hell! Oh well, maybe they will sell when I die...I’m willing them to my grown children. My son wants to make a movie 🎥 I wrote the book, screenplay and script for two story’s, “The Cave” and “the oceans Coffer”....who knows, maybe after I’m gone.

Both girls were really cute and I mean really. Even in short movies, they find a way to get good looking actors and actresses. The story sounded more goofy than anything, the music may be responsible for taking too much of the pressure off.

Well it really got me involved. So. For a guy that collects this stuff and it’s history he doesn’t know the rules of the board like end session before taking hands off planchette or how to just generally protect yourself and your house from bad shit shame on him but if he knew this stuff you wouldn’t have a film. So very good well crafted it hooked me like almost right away. So you got any more
I'm a little disappointed about the story especially the lead. Not the acting or anything but the character himself. Ok so I can tell the character is really into the occult and not just fantasizing about it but someone who seems to really look into it. Here is my problem, a character like this who viewed the object he had obtained as the real deal wouldn't just play with something like that not without setting up wards or having some sort of precaution set up ahead of time.Someone who studies the occult would know there is a lot more to it than just ouji boards and summoning spirits, there are many rituals and wards that are used for protection or banishment when dealing with spirits.
or at least know how to finish, I've never played it and even I know you're not suppose to leave it like that, you always have to move the piece to goodbye so you don't get 'haunted'. Seems kinda dumb that they wouldn't even do something as simple as that.

Better than the theatrical version of "Lights Out" although I loved the short horror film version. Very good actors, plot line so far (up to 18 minutes now).Is this available for rental on Amazon and iTunes yet? If not you should consider it. Even 99 cent or $2.00 rentals add up fast.
