I was watching the Steve Ramsey 2024 shop tour video with my wife the other day and at the end she’s like “that was probably like $20,000 worth of tools.” And I laughed and told her I know many other wood working CZcamsrs with actual $20,000+ shops. Now I can show her this video later tonight.

We have a shop to store our boat and had a part of the shop that was not being used well. We are turning that into a little wood shop. Its 12' x 20' but I have another 10' I may use as well that could make is 12' x 30'. I Can't wait to see your budget shop to hopefully get some idea from that. I really like the sliding back wall. That would be a great way to keep the dust contained to the woodshop side. Please keep the videos coming! Have a great 2024!

I saw a jointer tip on Bourbon Moth - for gluing up edges you only need parallel - even if it's 2° as long as you alternate faces you'll come out flat

Love to see a Table Saw Jig video. I recently added the Rip Flip to my Saw Stop. Using for dados and moving the fence just that little bit instead of tapping it, added magnets to connect them for even more ease of use. Saved my day on that sanding drum in the freezer, have had that happen a time or two and I end up using a razor to cut them off which isn't the safest.

That counter sink tip is gold. I've often tried using the bit in reverse which does give a slightly cleaner cut but I'm going to try doing the counter sink first now. Thank you!!
Zero flute countersinks work much better than the lemon squeezer kind
Yes, please doe a series of table saw jigs. I just purchased a SawStop 3hp 36" table saw, 1st cabinet saw I've owned, and would love to see all the jigs you recommend for it. Love your channel and what your doing with your new/inexpensive shop.

I bought the Rikon bandsaw on your recommendation several years ago and have been super happy with it. I do need to fet some new blades for it though. And that Nova Viking still makes my mouth water. I really want to get a helical head replacement for my Dewalt planer, maybe this is the year I do it. I personally like the paneling back drop. Reminds me of your old basement shop. Fun tour! Now, THAT’S one hell of a creative arts studio (shop)! #goals I cant even begin to choose my favorite part of this video. It’s all great! The freezer tip reminds me of a mechanic I used to work with. He was always bringing parts into the office kitchen to put into either the freezer or the oven. LOL. Also, I love the record player stand! My 21 year old son has always been all about music his entire life, and he’s managed to accumulate quite an impressive collection of vinyl. He would love to have something nice like that for his records & player. You’re literally forcing me to learn woodworking! 😂😂😂😂

You have a dream shop, don’t know how you keep it so clean
What a great video. And the tips were awesome. Love the planer sled with sandpaper and then showing us dual use for it. I use my table saw to joint wood but not how you do it. I took a piece of 3/4” plywood and ran it through table saw about 2/3rds of length taking only the blade with off. Then I flipped it over putting board to blade with uncut side on backside of blade. I then run my wood to joint against the board and it takes of the blade width. If it needs second pass, I run it again. I forget who I saw make this jig because I’m like you, I want to give that woodworker credit and you are so right about Stumpy Nubs and the other guy, they got great tips. Thanks for this video and have you got the parts or new planer from Wen yet
I do carpet in my shop. It is a 2 car garage that is connected to my house. As long as i keep the carpet swept it helps cut down on dust in the house. IT also keeps my feet warm in the winter months.

Sweet Shop/Tool vid! Dust collection is a challenge for me especially at the miter saw and with my Stepcraft M1000 w/ vac table and ATC. Maybe you could drop a video on dust collection although boring, but vital for us woodworkers...there are many things to consider and maybe helpful

Walking through your shop was like some sort of fantasy...but I fell outta my chair laughing as you ran the extreme angle cut at the end using a Harbor Freight clamp to hold the wood 🤣🤣🤣
You also made a very important point during the miter saw segment. Use what you have. Don't be held back while thinking you can't do that because you don't have a SawStop or a stack of Festool sustainers. Most of the tools I use are thirty+ years old, outside of my routers which I upgraded several years ago to take advantage of soft start and variable speed...both highly important for safety and ease of use.

Tool tip: Downy Wrinkle Releaser, spray over your shirt, give it a couple thwacks, good as ironed. 😂😂. I loved the freezer tip for removing sandpaper from the harbor freight roll!

You need to do a behind the scenes with you and your brother on your second channel. You guys are hilarious.
Hi David. The only jointer tip I know is the Inside/Outside tip. If you're gluing up a panel, label the upward face of each board "1, 2, 3..." and so on. Joint the odd numbered boards with the number facing inside (toward the fence) and joint the even numbered boards facing outside (away from the fence). This will ensure that any minor deviations from square on the fence will be mirrored board to board, and regardless of the deviation from 90 degrees, the faces will meet up perfectly.

I have my workshop set up in my garage. I'm going to hire an electrician to put some dedicated outlets for my equipment, tired of the dimming lights everytime I start the tablesaw. My question is twofold. Dedicated outlet for every tool? How do you feel about outlets in the ceiling with a drop down factory style on/off switch for the dust collector, maybe table saw? Great video some tips I never knew that will make me more productive for sure!

6:19 I've started using a composite nailer more and more now that I have a Sawstop. Also lets you go back and route edges without having to worry about hitting a nail

I have the 1-3/4 horse Sawstop PCS and I just upgraded to 220-240 v. What a difference over 110-120 v. Just do it. What a difference.

16:31 well the good news about your Festool is that nobody can say that you’re trying to hide you fancy expensive tools while telling viewers to just use pallet wood and tools from estate/tag sales that are equal to spread you have. You’re very up front with your use of a lot of tools for a variety of project types & materials. Nobody should be giving you grief for the miter saw of all things in rough collection.

Do you have a dust collector setup on each individual tool? I kept seeing the little wen dust collectors and started noticing you don't have any piping ran throughout your shop?
