Senator Hontiveros is confusing about the grant of legislative franchise and revocation thereof and press freedom/freedom of speech regarding ABS CBN’s non-renewal of franchise! Legislative franchise emanates from the House of Representatives who due to several violations of existing laws and regulations had previously denied the application for the renewal of its (ABS CBN) franchise!
A franchise being a privilege in its nature, the grantee has legal obligations to follow and any violations thereof will cause the revocation and non-renewal thereof no matter how noble or paramount contribution it has to the general public!

Wala nga magawa sa text scam yung NTC ng sya ang namumuno tapos ililipat pa sya sa ibang government agency. Sayang lang tax na pinapasweldo dyan.

Ngayon naman ay ipinagpipilitan na naman ang provisional franchise samantalang may desisyon na rin ang Supreme Court na franchise lang ang dapat magkaroon ang isang TV Station para makapag-operate.
