Snake Challice: Coming Soon
In this video, I forge a simple snake candle-holder from 5/16 round bar. Forging snakes is a good project for a beginner blacksmith, as it is a relatively straight forward process, that lends itself to personal expression. In addition to candle holders, this snake motif can be used to create towel bars, toilet paper holders, coat hooks and a whole host of other potential products. As this is a fairly quick process using little steel and utilizing minimal tooling, the beginner Smith can make sale-able items to sell at their local renaissance fair or craft show.

We will continue to add beginner-friendly projects to our channel over time. Let us know if there are any that you would like to see.
This is an awesome project I'm a knife maker looking to get my hands in on some art style smithing that requires more hammering than grinding! Thank you so much for the wonderful video and idea! Going to make one of these tomorrow!
@@SpitingFire13 if you feel up to it please share some pics to our facebook page.
This is funny but up until this moment I didnt realize I don't have a pair of tongs to hold that small of round stock. I'm going to make some now.
My favorite part about the craft. If you don't have something. You just make it.
@@SpitingFire13 yes. There aren't too many trades where you can so freely craft your own tools.
I been making knives for 6 years and this is something that gets me out of the norm. I have made a few items here and there as need arises. But love the options that can be done with hot steel.
I am trying to learn some blacksmithing and loving this channel. Thanks for taking the time to make great videos.
Ya did good.....I just hope I can do half of what you do.....🔥🔨

Great project, I’d like an upsetting jig like that one
It's a bit challenging but it is possible to make one yourself if you have the tools and materials.

You’re the man Thak! I always look forward to your content, not to mention what mutilated metal band shirt you’ll be wearing next! Haha
Really nice work, looks very organic! A shot at the end of the video would have been nice with a candle in the holder, though.
Agreed. Didn't have a suitable candle unfortunately.
A very complete tutorial. the end product is very satisfying. I love that it is pitched at beginners, because that is me!. I feel like with a little practice I could also make this. Thank you for helping us rank amateurs.
first time I came across your channel, I enjoy your content, commentary and technique. Thanks for your effort
Thank you for the comment, we will continue to put out content for people like you who are interested in the art form.
Great video guys ... I will try this after my current project!!
Send us pics of the results when you do!
That snake's like, "Fuck, bud! Stop hitting me with that hammer!"
All kidding aside, I really dig your videos, man.
Nice
Thank you
cool looking snake
Thanks!
Muito legal o seu trabalho! Quém dera trabalha assim!
Просто, но со вкусом, молодец!
Love your videos. Would make a small critique here: a snake would never coil that way; tail weight on top. It would limit their strike capability. Head end mass will always coil on top.
Learn something new every day
Cool man
Thankyou
MY son well love this one
