      Saudi has to succeed in these ventures at any cost as they are too dependent on oil and their economy needs urgent diversification from oil or they will feel the heat in the very near future.
      I sincerely wish that the world helps them achieve this goal for the benefit of earth.

    They are the only country bidding because FIFA changed the bid deadline out of nowhere. The 2030 world cup was also butchered to ensure that only the AFC and OFC were eligible to bid. Rules were also changed to allow Saudi to be eligible, similar to Qatar. Their succesful bid was solely because of bribery.

      @xxbb18 Před 29 dny

      Like seriously speak it out and be specific.

    • @SirSayakaMikiThe3rd
      @SirSayakaMikiThe3rd Před 29 dny +3

      @@xxbb18
      Ok, lets start simple. What is something tourists from all over the world do when on vacation? They like to drink. Alcohol is forbidden. Well that sucks, especially if they are planning on hosting major sporting tournaments. Qatar got away with it by promising to wave the law for the WC22 only to do a 180 on that commitment. Saudi is not LGBT friendly. Though they may now be more welcoming of tourists of that persuasion, the underlying current of discrimination is still there in the government and in the people. Similar with women. The fact that the first beach to allow bikinis was in 2023 is something you can't pretend is appealing to people.
      Where would I, as a tourist, rather go to relax beach side? Miami, Bora Bora, Okinawa, Cancun, Rio, etc. Places that have never had any of these restrictions? or Saudi, a place where all these restrictions either still exist or were quite literally just lifted for tourists?
      Oh, and one more huge restriction. You can not contradict MBS.

    • @xxbb18
      @xxbb18 Před 29 dny +1

      @@SirSayakaMikiThe3rd my question wasn’t to you but it’s ok.
      1- Alcohol is forbidden as so many things are forbidden in other countries, for example weed is forbidden in most of the countries despite people (tourists) like to smoke it, but because they are smart they don’t judge the countries that don’t allow smoking weed but rather they go to Amsterdam to smoke there. On the other hand many muslim female face restrictions of the hijab in some of the European countries, but because they are smart they don’t judge the contraries but rather respect their laws and go visit other countries which suits their religion teachings.
      2- Saudi is just like most of the islamic and some of the non-islamic countries(Russia for example) which are not LGBTQFUQURSTUZ+/- friendly but if you are one them you can freely visit Saudi Arabia but don’t fu*k in the streets.
      3- I really don’t know what women discrimination you are talking about because all the women I know they finished their schools they are hired in companies, schools as teachers, in shopping malls and even some have their own businesses. In addition they are driving their own cars wearing whatever they want, walking at the middle of the night alone without fear. I’m completely sure that most of your information is coming from media and I don’t blame you for that.
      4- “The fact that the first beach to allow bikinis was in 2023” Bro, women were not allowed to study at schools 50 years ago but that had changed, women were not allowed to drive until 2018 so that also was changed… everything is changing in Saudi Arabia.
      Button line every country has restrictions chose the one that suits you well and don’t judge.

    • @joeschmoe5583
      @joeschmoe5583 Před 29 dny +1

      @@xxbb18 It's great that you're countering his points in certain ways - "other countries have restrictions on drugs", "other countries aren't LGBT friendly like Russia", "Women are not discriminated against because they can work jobs and own vehicles", "we're making great progress rapidly on women wearing bikinis!"
      You just don't get it. Most people don't want to vacation anywhere that even has THE CHANCE of unsafety - especially from the government or culture itself with hyper strict fundamentalist enforcement and the arbitrariness of some sophisticated religious system.
      The Arab states have been successful in attracting high net worth tourism - its not going to be anything permanent. You don't have an ideal climate - geographically, culturally, legally; and your markets/investment are not organic.
      Not saying the rest of the world is perfect - the West is collapsing.

      Exactly, this is the point. Though, "The west is collapsing" is certainly hyperbolic. I'd say the whole world is having serious issues, you just live in the west, and hence focus on it. These hairbrained ideas in the middle east are a product of them realizing the oil industry isn't forever. China has had a financial collapse that they are not going to completely recover from. etc. etc.

Why not make it little bit wider and make 2 or 3 cross lines between 25 to 50km? or how about parallel lines of 10km each with 1km space between them and interconnected by another line or two 😂

    Watched this and another recent film on huge cities in the pipeline. They all sound suspiciously like the kind of projects that people go bust investing in, in historical novels and more recently. "Bubbles". I wonder what pension funds are being sunk into these? Is it the new version of the packaged defaulted mortgage racket in the US? These just sound like bigger and more ambitious iterations. The saying goes, if you're going to tell a like, tell a big one!
