    Hey, just a question really - I'm someone who streams and does Twitch and I've been considering going to an XLR setup and people have been telling me that the SHURE SM7B is a good option but it is a lot more expensive compared to this mic - I own Sennheiser headphones which are amazingly good audiophile level quality and I saw that this mic is a lot cheaper than the SM7B but gets some very good reviews from musicians, streamers and sound-engineers alike...would this mic be a better buy for me than the SHURE SM7B in your opinion? Thanks for any insight!

    • @gregoryhousen8594
      @gregoryhousen8594 Před 2 lety +4

      Let me tell you my opinion, they are very different microphones, I also have an LCT440, it is a good microphone, a modern sound yes, but it does not share so many similarities with the MK4, the LCT440 is a microphone with a unique tonality more modern and airy that either suits your voice or not, It remains for you and that is just testing, like almost any microphone, it is not a microphone intended to cut in very dense mixes since its mids lack thrust and it is its only lack if you are a singer who does not cut much technically by yourself I do not recommend it for voices with a lack of vocal technique and less so for high-pitched voices, I feel that the MK4 better balances a voice with a high tessitura and does equally well with deep ones, LCT440 is one of the microphones that best captures the high end excessively high detail and it's a beast for that, but sacrificing the thick mids and having the shot still lag a little "behind" by having many instruments and having to process more and more, I prefer the versatility of the MK4 nowadays, although lewitt it's pretty good but It suits more to a specific type of voice... Another situation is that the lewitt microphones are new on the market and there are not many recordings to corroborate with users and professional application, the MK4 is a microphone from the year 2011, so due to its age and made in Germany, the Sennheiser is still better off for now....

      SM7B doesn't sound nearly as effortless. It sounds good, but the MK4 sounds much more transparent, likely due to the microphone technology: condenser (MK4) compared to the SM7B (dynamic). I also have the MK4 and it does sound very nice.
