    Great review, I've purchased the c-1 and I'm very satisfied with both its build and sound quality. It works great with my Behringer U-PHORIA UMC22 audio interface as well as my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface - both are able to supply Phantom Power 48v via their USB connection.

    I like this microphone. I've been a long time subscriber to this channel, I think it's great. I picked one up for 15 bucks second hand, including a phantom power supply. I don't use the phantom power supply though, because the mic works great of my behringer 802 mixer, which is able to provide 48v pp. It's a real nice upgrade over the bm800 I used to use. The sound is a lot clearer and the bass response is better, the bm800 could be a bit muddy at times.

    @Wornflame793 Před 8 lety +2

    The Xenyx 302USB does have a phantom power preamp. So it would work fine with the mic, however my experience with it is you do have to kick the gain up a good amount before getting a good sound. Which like you said, causes noise.

    • @Podcastage

    This mic comes with the behringer bundles (including HPS5000 headphones and either UMC202HD or UMC22) and i am debating on getting one. The UMC22 bundle is much cheaper by a whopping 40 pounds, which sucks because i would rather have the midas preamps but for only 69£ i think it is a pretty damn good deal. I have heard there are sometimes manufacturing defects with this particular mic but as long as i get it under warranty i think it will be good enough for my purposes now.

      "Suffering from insomnia while working loading Coca-Cola trucks, Adam Young began to compose music,[15][5][16] recording with a C-1 Behringer Microphone.[17]"
      I should clarify that this microphone was probably used in the early stages since he wrote Fireflies when he was a teenager, so he probably redid the vocals with higher priced gear after he got signed to a record label. Sad, but nice to hear that even though the Fireflies we hear now might not be recorded with a C-1 Behringer, his older songs likely were.

    Hey there, thanks for your amazing review! I had a question which i haven't found the answer to while searching the internet.
    I have this mic. And i have nothing else, does just using a phantom power and plugging the output of the phantom power to input of a computer work just fine or do i need a preamp? Please i will be very thankful if you reply me. Thank you 🙏
    Sorry if this question seems stupid but searching the internet nearly everyone said that i need an interface device, but in your video it worked perfectly just using the phantom power. Im new to this :$
    Thank you again

    Ugh, I just ordered this and I guess I need a couple of extra things. I will have to wait a little while but I suppose it's worth it. The mic isn't expensive and it looks decent enough.

    Hello first time commenting.
    I just bought my Behringer C-1 and set it up perfectly just like you did.
    However, mine doesn't record my voice well meaning my voice is very quiet when I record.
    I have my mic as close to my mouse as you had in your video. I also have my input volume set at a good level.
    Now, I was just wondering if there are any ways to improve my mic volume to the level like you had.
    I have the same mic as yours so I should be able to right?

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  Před 8 lety

      +Ryosuke Araki Yeah. If you have the Mic, Phantom Power Supply, and USB Soundcard, you should be able to get the same performance. What is your input gain set at?

    • @user-yh9wf3xd2j
      @user-yh9wf3xd2j Před 8 lety +1

      +Podcastage I have Steinberg UR12 which provides Phantom Power and also works as a USB sound card obviously because it is an USB Audio Interface. And I have the gain set at 2'o clock. Beyond that, I start to hear noise and don't want to go beyond it. Of course I have my volume for UR12 set at 100 on my PC. What is the problem here? Or is there not and am I expecting too much?

    • @Podcastage
      @Podcastage  Před 8 lety

      Ryosuke Araki Connecting to the UM2, I had to set at about 2'oclock too.

  • @josh_ari
    @josh_ari Před 2 lety

    the audio level seems a bit low on this one. I've heard you really have to crank the gain on audio interfaces with built-in fantom power. I bet the c-1 would be good with a triton audio fethead

  • @JasonTDolan

    Hmm, I would have thought Dynamic mic would sound better. Don't really like Condensers. I'm waiting on Behringer Ultralink ULM300USB 2.4 GHz Digital Wireless System arriving. What is your opinions on this? Do you reckon the C-1 is going to sound better? I use a Behringer XENYX QX2222USB 12 Channel Mixer which has 8 XLR mic inputs and 48v phantom power.
