Trying to get the FT8 app, FT8CN to work on the Guoetech Q900 SRD Transceiver. If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong or missing then please feel free to comment below.
The radio seems to have some oddities. One of them is that in the radio app under menu the audio comes out of the loudspeaker even with headphones connected. I have not yet tried FT8 with the usb-c cable and the phone. In my phone two symbols appear with the name of Q900. Guess, one for audio and one for control. But FT8 is rather time critical and latencies may be to long for FT8. Thanks for the video Ben!
Hi! I get this radio working on ft8 with this app just by Bluetooth connection, In the settings tab must to set CAT control by Bluetooth and the gouhe q900 on equip. Works like a charm! Regards!
I got the software working on the 7300. when you get it working it says rig connection successful. In your settings, you have it set to 817 radio. Change it to q900 in the list I can see it here on my own version. Check you have the latest version. Q900 uses civ 0. I am using ver 0.86.
Hi Ben great video. Interested in grabbing 1 of these units for use when away from the home shack in the caravan and got a couple of questions. 1 where did you get it and was you charged import tax or fees. 2. I don't want to be dragging a big psu around so wondered if you have tried powering it from a plug in transformer such as would power a scanner or similar
The signals need to have a microphone input. I don't know if the way you are set is using the soundcard properly. I think there must be an input setting as per using a pc. I.E making the input and output use the same audio settings.
What kind of iq data can you get by any means out of it, from the q900 to PC or phone? Bandwidth? second question, when transmitting, what maximum bandwidth can you produce outside of the device and feed it to device? Audio only? What max bandwidth SSB can you form from the Bluetooth app that comes with q900? Why I am asking, I would like to know if it could be used it with desktop sdr software of any kind.

Have you been able to get FT8 to work off the computer? I have not got it to work even using the FT-817 settings.

You can charge it with 5vdc from a USB power supply

Cheers Tim, yeah I need to experiment with it further 👍

The 0.87 version has the Q900 in the radio list.
U moet nog een OTG adapter kabeltje naar uw mobiele telefoon tussen koppelen 😊
Don't you need an OTG adapter?
I've just made my 1st ever digital qso, with FT8CN on Samsung s10 5g and Lab599 TX-500
