Osaka Castle is not Lord Toranaga's residence. it's Ishido's home base. Yoshii Toranaga, is from Edo. Toranaga was interned at Osaka Castle by his rival, Lord Ishido, pending the Council of Regents' impeachment decision. The summoning of Toranaga and the impeachment vote, was engineered by Ishido to further his agenda to eventually become ruler until the Taiko's son comes of age.
Yessss🙌🏾🙌🏾
It wasn’t Yabushige who hired the buddhist sect assassin to kill Blackthorn, it was Lord Kiyama on behalf of the Christians.
And... Edo is what Tokyo was called in the 1600s it wasn't yet the capital

Great show. Reminds me of why I loved the book so much!
I Read The Book In 1976. It Was A Real Eye Opener About Feudal Japan. I Later Saw The Richard Chamberlain TV Version In 1980.
This New Version Is Much More Satisfying.
"Teaches him how to swim"!!!!???? Wow!
He was actually teaching him how to dive off the ship's rail.
I’m excited for this show but this last episode could have been better with more action. The dark and low visibility lighting reminded me of the last few episodes of GOT. They use low light to cover up the action. I remember I had to brighten up my TV screen to watch some episodes. I love the drama but please provide more visible action! 😅
I forgive it more here. They are trying to be somewhat historical and realistic. Fighting in real life isn't always cute or cinematic. It's chaos
This episode from a production standpoint felt a little rushed.
Or you could read the book. Or watch the arguably better original mini series, which holds up very well, and was made with the imput of the original author.
Nie Ma Jak odgrzewanie starych pomysłów w nowym wydaniu. Szogun - amerykański serial telewizyjny z 1980 roku według powieści Jamesa Clavella o tym samym tytule.
you can pronounce Toranaga correctly but you say odder instead of other 😆
Ya episode 3 night fight scene was sus....like really watered down...not in line with type of cut throat violence in ep 1 and 2..i hope they step up their game for the rest of the episodes. The filter and glow used at the on ship when john and mariko are talking is too dreamy/corny
something was really off this episode, and the acting from them on the ship was corny, yelling back and forth. and that battle scene look like it was set up by a 5th grader, i dont know , just was off
