@@ASquidWithC4 Gameplay seems to fit between SC2 and WC3, leaning more towards SC2. Expect a lot of micro.
Came for the animation, stayed for the music
OSHA is gonna throw a fit when they see that the only visible door is blocked by improperly stored explosives, ammunition, and unpackaged food. Then there's the lack of protective barriers near the conveyor belt to prevent people from falling on it and potentially into the laser. And where's the signage? Gotta keep people informed of hazards and what not to do.
All in all, looks cool and keep it up, Frost Giant.

Me too. I can't wait to play this game and use the level editor too. Maybe we can make a community similar to what wc3 has. Lobbies with tower defence, loap, parasite, etc.
I am getting more and more hyped as they days go by.

I'm a huge music guy. even years after I stopped playing a game I will still listen to the OST a ton.
And I can tell Stormgate is gonna have that kind of music what with I keep this video on repeat.
Looks like the base structure is a conveyor belt where the robot arm is a laser, welding/finishing whatevers on the belt, like a production/tech building, very cool!
I adore that little building, and if the constructs look even half as good as that in the full game I'll probably burst with joy. Although I am sure a lot of people overlook these small animations(In terms of scale/Gameplay, not in complexity), I can't help but pay attention to the love of details. I wish you a bright future ahead, team of Frost Giant Studios.

I am so hyped for this game that even a little teaser makes me feel excited. Can't wait to finally see real gameplay. But take as much time as you need! Better delay it and make it good instead of rushing it

Music lives up to the legacy the studio comes from. Building silhouette is readable, feels like a resource drop off rather than a production structure.

Looks very Starcraft inspired. But then again this is a representation of future humanity so obviously it would have similarities with Terran. I like it.
If these guys were billionaires they would buy the Starcraft IP from Blizzard. They love it, and that is good for us that are looking for a Starcraft 3
@@elbala777 Im a huge starcraft nerd so I love it. But I am a bit worried that many rts enthusiasts or people from outside the genre who dont like starcraft might dismiss this game if it looks aesthetically too similar.
That said, I am not actually worried because I have a lot of faith in the devs. But I thought I'd mention it anyways.
@@skipp3252 you can’t please everyone in the video game industry. So long as this game sticks to the RTS formula seen in Starcraft 1 and 2. I’m fine with it. Leave out the hero bs and unit veterancy from other games.

I'm replaying all the campaigns from StarCraft 2 (in the middle of Legacy of the Void at the moment) and it's really gotten me interested in what Stormgate will be like!

The music has me so hyped. Really similar to Terran music, which makes me glad they aren't straying too far from the blizzard-style RTS, music-wise.
The music is sooo reminiscent of the ambient in game sc2 music. I'm down with that.

I love the serious art, aesthetics, and random burst of hyper brutality from SC2. I hope you will transfer that over.
The main reason why I couldn’t get into War Craft was due to that weird cartoonish look of the game.

It's unlikely I think but this conveyor belt makes me wonder if there will be any satisfactory/factorio elements in the game.
Maybe to build certain tech you need to string resources together in a certain order to mass produce it.
Wouldn't really fit into a high octane pvp rts tho I think.
I'd like if there were some simple factory mechanics at least for 1 or more factions, that goes a bit beyond what StarCraft 2 did with Terran structure add-ons. My speculation for this building in the preview is that it provides ammunition refills to nearby Resistance fighters, similar to how a Protoss shield battery can only refill shields. On a simpler note, it's probably a structure that can research damage upgrades.

Have you played the SC2 custom map called Zerg Hex?
It's a 2v6 mode where 2 players play zerg waves in the middle and 6 terrans are each on their own peninsula working together.
The Terran units all require energy to fire their weapons and you constantly need to micro batteries (played by Protoss Sentries) to bring energy to the marines.
That's maybe a little bit how you described this converybelt building could suply ammo to troops.
It could be a neat mechanic, would get very technical and might make the whole race feel like not for everyone.
Maybe it only supplies extra damage rounds while the regular rounds are infinite. That could be interesting.
@@Broockle yes, I have played that map, it did occur to me that the mechanic I described is pretty much that but instead of an energy refill bar it would be an actual ammunition bar.
@@Broockle I do like the idea you suggested, getting higher damage rounds that are limited, and the others being infinite. That would give a unique feel I think.
I have really been hoping for an rts that has some factory type mechanics like combining things together to make units with different capabilities, but I'm not sure if that would be cut out for Stormgate.

They did say they want to focus on team play. And so there's prbly lots of ways for teammates to buff each other's armies.
Building a supply line might be one of these.
There's also going to be level objectives that will hold some amount of significance.
Tho we got no details how this will all come together. I'm super curious.
There was this game a few years ago called DwarfHeim. It didn't do so well, but it did try to be 3v3 cooperative. The main issues were that getting into a game took ages and the game was also not nearly as responsive as SC1 or 2.
Not sure how good of a game it would have been even if it had kept an audience. Basically 1 player was in charge of microing army and kill neutral camps for money, 1 guy was in charge of building infrastructure and build units and workers and one guy was underground playing factorio making sure all the resources get mined.
When 1 of 3 players was bad it made everyone bad tho, one player had no carrying capacity which was also a negative for many people I think.
It was interesting tho. I imagine StormGate won't separate players into roles like that, but some races and spawn locations will be better at somethings than others I'm guessing.
