In the comics, the head of the Silver Centurion looked just like that, with the thick, almost non-existent neck. I assume Hasbro decided to make the neck and head one piece and hinge it at the torso because the movement of the head would have been too restricted if the joint was located between the neck and the head like in regular figures. So props to Hasbro for trying to score points for comic-accuracy, but they should have made the neck run deeper into the torso to avoid the gap. or make the neck two-jointed like an import figure.
or even better, get rid of those stupid wide shield like repulsor effects and give us a new unmasked head with a mullet

Me too! Thats one of my favorite IM armors. For as popular as it was you don't see it getting much love.
Do them in order. Neo Classic next and then Modular Iron Man. There is a War Machine style Iron Man which is kind of a mashup of the Modular and War Machine armor that they could do with probably very little tooling.

This Iron Man looks like Mark Bright's artwork from the late 80s (ARMOR WARS BAYBEE!) lept out on my comics and formed in plastic. I need this in my life. Not only is this my second favorite armor, but it will look awesome posed next to my Iron Monger BAF and custom Firepower figures. The neck does not ruin it for me. Now Hasbro just needs to give us the Modular Armor and my Hall of Armor will be complete.
Bright/Layton & Byrne drew this version of Ironman the best IMO.
Its also crazy that they didn't use the war machine arms. They are already the right color

I get that he's sometimes called bucket head or shell head. But that head articulation just doesn't make sense. Maybe its a parts count thing? Or maybe there going to try to use it for a first appearance armor? (hopefully in gold) either way, its good to have a new silver centurion
Yeah man the head/neck thing kinda sucks but it's still a nice figure! I'd definitely be down for a godl first appearance Iron Man!
@@UnparalleledUniverse i just realized that while first appearance Ironman does have a helmet like this (hes usually not drawn with a neck) this head has too many details for that look.

This figure looks pretty nice. I'm not sure if I have a favorite Iron Man armor but this one's definitely a contender for that spot. I'm still holding out hope for a classic Crimson Dynamo with a shiny cherry red look to it, probably won't happen but that'd look so good alongside this figure or the 80th anniversary version.

My problems about this figure:
-Why the hell the head and neck are in one piece?!
-The torso should be a little bit bulkier than the normal one.
-The paint looks cheap, it should be Metallic Red!
They’re not gonna do a metallic paint, look at all the other iron man figures.

in the comics, the neck is very bulky too and seems to be part of the helmet. Maybe it is not the best choice for articulation, but it is the initial comics design which has flaws, not this figure. And it looks pretty good, according to me.

I prefer the flight effects on war machine but I’m glad they made the reused 80 iron man effects translucent compared to the yellow crayola crayons we got with the first release

Great review Unparalleled! This figure looks soooo good with the other West Coast members. I agree seeing all the armors in a cohesive size looks awesome. I haven't messed with my F/O Iron Man in a while but man, I had no idea he was that small, lol. This figure has good head movement but man, what a weird choice for an IM figure. Also now that I see him, I need a new Captain figure. Cant have this Iron Man without The Captain, lol.

Damn it Hasbro, why do you keep doing this? Your sculpts are looking great the paint is mostly decent but then you do stuff like the neck issue, same thing with Cable. Overall he looks great then you see this giant neck gap and it’s just gross...

Turn the waist of any Legend halfway around and that's just gross too. The solution is don't pose it that way. Same for the new, highly superior neck joints. Don't put them into unnatural looking poses and enjoy the ways in which they beat the lousy old hinge method.
Alan Doane I’m always able to work around the waist swivel in my photography, it can be ugly but much easier to hide.
I’m not going to make an excuse for that neck, it needs to change. With Cable no matter how it’s posed there will always be a gap.
The reason they do little stuff like that is so the figure is never perfect. If this iron man had a Tony stark head sculpt, drop down hips, better articulation, better paint, and regular head articulation no one would ever buy another silver centurion figure from Hasbro again. They do stuff like this so they can make better figures in the future and people will buy them. It sucks, but that's just the way it is. Take the classic retro spiderman figure for example, its amazing, it looks great and has amazing articulation, but later on Hasbro can make a new figure that has all that and a Peter parker head, wall crawling hands, pinless joints, you name it. It's all just a way to make more money.

I really enjoy the figure as it is because the articulation and the new sculpt i know they could've made it better but it is a walgreens exclusive we all have our own opinions though.

i got the silver centurion first and then got war machine and then 80th anniversary and they really do look oh so good next to each other. i just really wish they'd make a comic accurate iron spider

Hasbro needs to get on making the Modular Armor Iron Man from the animated series and Marvel vs. Capcom. That was the Iron Man I grew up with, It's the one I'm really hoping Hasbro announces soon.

I've been hankering for this armour but the shonky dumbbell joint takes the shine off it. I wonder if the ball joint that connects to the torso could be sunk lower?

Great review but yeah that nick issue is effed up. That gap in the neck to me is a deal breaker. The body looks great it’s just the head and neck too much of an eye sore. I’d think I’ll wait to get this figure on sale.

A ball joint of any kind at the head would’ve helped this guy a lot, not being able to put a Stark head on is a bummer. Great figure otherwise, love the shoulder pads and seeing a translucent version of those bigger blast effects.
I really wanted to build my west coast avengers.... but the head is a real bonekiller

A stealth armor on the 80th anniversary Iron Man body is the ultimate no-brainer. There's NO WAY that's not coming.
That head/neck situation is fugly!! Gaps everywhere, such a horrible decision.
The shoulder armor is beautiful done though. A must have for all figures with shoulder armor from now on.

3:55 The feet aren't the same, look at the toes! Silver Centurion has squared toes and Classic has rounded toes. The neck does ruin it for me so I'm going to pass on this one :(

Legends already has some of the best head/neck articulation at the $20 level. Why would they go and ruin it like this? Looks a Revo figure at the neck with all that gapiness. Who am I kidding? I’m still buying it.
hasbro just listen to me make the the neck have the ability to look side to side and up and just make a quality figure that we can play with
I'm not gonna lie, i'm really salty, the silver centurión is one of my very, very few iron man's armors that i really like and aking it exclusive from the u.s. is kind of BS, thats a big middle finger to overseas collectors

I don't love it, the head joint is a big flaw, and I feel people are trying to give a pass on Hasbro, besides the paint job is not really great. Hope Hasbro releases a deluxe version fixing these flaws. IMHO
