The era of lifelong careers is long over. The millennials and younger will go through at least 5 career changes. Very normal. I didn't start uni until I was 27. Started working in my career at 30. I had 50+ year old women in my year changing into a new career. Never too late for change

I am currently a mechanical design engineer learning to be a nailtech (clients for free because I love to make people smile and feel good) but seriously thinking about studying Psychology at 42 years old to pay my rent 😊Oh yes and I also studied to be a fashion designer...who knows what life brings! Learning and exploring is also something I love ❤

I work in advertising and you’re absolutely right. It’s a VERY soft ads market right now. It’s especially noticeable because we’ve actually had a couple years of pretty strong advertising so it’s super noticeable when it dipped. It actually reminds me of early days Covid in terms of being a weak market. But on the plus side, it will always pick back up again so long as we remain a consumerist nation/world. 😂
You’re absolutely right!! I sell all digital, live streaming and social platforms as well as two broadcast stations for the second largest media group, and all are very soft right now. CZcams is more expense versus the number of impressions the advertiser receives, so I have had clients shift their ad budgets to other tactics because of the limited budget. I’m sure you agree, we love ads, commercials, etc, because they are our income!!😁
Honestly, I’ve worked as a fashion designer, for my masters in engineering, worked as a supplying chain manager, production manager, project manager in a research center and I was also a teacher for a while. Right now, I’m in continuous improvement in a governmental organization. I’m only 30, so even though I’m happy now, I can’t say what I will be doing in the future. I just let things happen, I don’t have much of a plan per se, which is very unlike me. I love to have this type of conversation about the future because there’s so much possibilities if you are open to it and are willing to take a chance at something. I don’t remember the last time I only had one job at the time and it’s not for everyone, people often comment on my schedule, but I’m genuinely happy this way 🤷♀️ if I have a family, it might change, it might not. Who cares, I’ll get to decide that when I’ll get there 😅. For now, let’s dream of endless possibilities 🤓

I loved this video. So thought provoking as always. I’m 55 now & will be taking early retirement in a couple of years. It’s going to be both scary & exciting! I’ve worked for the same company for 39 years, so it’s been such a constant in my life. I want to upload more to CZcams (purely for fun because I love doing it!) but also have time to exercise more, read, travel & relax. I think I’ve earned it! 💖
To answer the question you ask us viewers towards the end of the video: I saw CZcams, and still do, as a plan B of my own situation. It begun in 2021 when I fell totally in love with CZcams so to speak. I started a channel (In Swedish) and I am not going to end it anytime soon. I have plans on growing and doing something serious on CZcams as well. I believe Google will find ways to get the advertising system to work, because as I understand it, it is how the plaform survives. I have a weak memory that Adsense had problems in the past and that they fixed it. I believe CZcams is too integral part of the Internet today, to go anytime soon, and the more people who use the platform, the better, I suppose, so please don't quit ;-) And yes I like your content as it is inspiring! And I wish you good luck with whatever you plan on doing!
I'm 40 and I also like change. I'm currently at my 7th job and i'm not afraid to change in few years again. I work in IT and it actually helped me to learn much more, in comparison with my friends who are at the same place for 10+ years. I tried different industries, even though SW development is very similar everywhere, but each industry has its own specifics. Thank you so much for this video and your point of view and thinking outloud :)
Definitely need to always have a plan. If you’re a business owner I would suggest taking business courses. I’m taking business courses now including Macroeconomics and Accounting which are essential in any business and personal finance. But honestly you don’t need to go to a University to get a degree when you can learn everything online especially You tube. Every student I know uses You Tube as an extra tutor. It’s great to have that extra support.
Is always really good to have a backup plan, nothing lasts forever ! I am almost 34 and i've decided after maternity leave, to make some career changes and i'm looking forward to put this in motion 😊, plus i am not afraid to make changes and start over 😊

So now i have almost 2 full sets. 😊 Your channel has been a big piece of my heart for many years. I used to watch so many channels back in 2014-2020 and then i made some changes and now i watch you, Allie, Teresa, Nadi, and heather. Best on the platform. Of course we'd miss you if you left, but we'd be foolish if we thought you'd be here forever. But, until you decide to go in a different direction I'll enjoy your videos. I work in customer service and I've been doing it for year's and it definitely isn't for the faint of heart haha and I've been thinking about looking to follow my dreams(i want to be a photographer) but change is scary. Right now I'm the only income in our household until the snow melts(yes we still have snow on the ground in May) and then my husband will be back to work. So I'm apprehensive to make some drastic changes as i need to be able to provide for my kid's and animals.
I think it’s smart in ANY job to have a backup plan or even to have multiple streams of income because you just nevvverrr know what’s going to happen!

I've had several times in my life where I've needed a backup plan (I became chronically ill! it can happen to anyone at any age), so I am pretty much an expert at pivoting to another plan. And hey, I have become super happy with being a super freelance artist right now, even if I miss being an engineer. I also worked at a Dairy Queen for 5 years as a teen and was really good there (I agree that the pay really was the biggest issue, and sometimes co-workers!)
While I don't create as solely as a YTer does, there are times I get stuck doing a lot of gigs in a row alone and I start to miss having co-workers too! Having other humans around in your same place, doing similar work, just helps.
Oh no friend, I am so sorry that your illness took you away from engineering. I’m glad that art is treating you well, I’m actually moving in the opposite direction for my own invisible disabilities! Trying to make enough money to stay alive and get health insurance.

Definitely on this thought process train right now. I turned 40 about a week ago and it gave me so much energy somehow to really think about what I want for myself in live and how to get there. I think it is so important that you two talk about this kind of stuff and off course to have that plan b. And I will definitely come and eat some kladdkaka when you open your fika coffeeshop in greece or some place similar 😉😉

Working in EU legislation myself and have been for a long time, I've moved companies a lot. Change can be good and you can see life a different way. Plan B can vary wherever you end up but luckily you can likely turn your hand to a number of things. I'm in a job where its going to be around for a long time but I'm trying new things within it at the moment and enjoying a new challenge. Here's to EU legislation and the Environmental Science degrees giving skills that work in so many areas.

Honestly, I've been thinking about backup plans a lot, too. I'm a pastor, and I love my job / calling. However, many churches can't afford a full time pastor anymore. I've been thinking what my plan B will be. Teacher? Plant nursery worker? Etc. I appreciate you naming your plan b's 😊
Hi Angie. I love your eye makeup today, patchiness and all. 🤡Tomorrow is my required “be in the brick & mother office” day and I am trying to figure out how I want to do my eyes. If I recall correctly, when you went to full time YT, it was only because of COVID making it so you & Ricardo couldn’t move as planned. When y’all were planning the move, you were going to get another office job, preferably in your field. So it makes sense that’s still on your mind.

It’s my birthday today, I am a Taurus (I know, you don’t believe in that🙈), so I hate the change. Tauruses prefers stability (normally), we don’t like things to change. I love my job, it’s perfect to me! I loved what I was doing before too (I worked at a university as a Spanish lecturer), but I prefer what I’m doing now (well, for the last 18 years or so). I’m a translator. I love having my own schedule, not having to go to the office, etc. I don’t hate people!😄 I just want to be around them when I decide to.🙈

References. When people say that you are good at your job, we say that you have good references. I worry about some other CZcamsrs (women whose husband and extended family depend on their CZcams income). It seems like many of the gals that I follow have husbands whose job has become helping their wives/girlfriends with their channel. I'm have been studying for the last few years to become a funcionaria , a civil servant, especifically an Administrative of the State here in Spain. It's a lot of effort because the competition is fierce. And you don't have any certainty of achieving it. So it's a huge gamble. But the prize is worthy because that's a permanent possition. That means a lot to me. I'm chronically ill so getting a job and keeping it is quite difficult So it's a dream for me not having to worry about that ever again.
I finally manage to achieve it, then I would consider to study Criminology. I know that I won't be able to get the degree but maybe take a few classes.
Whatever you choose to do or choose to stay you will shine ✨I wish you many blessings.

I'm very much like you. I love change and I know I'm still growing. I enjoy making some videos, I'll never get big, that's fine. My career is nursing and there's sooooo many paths. I want to get into the Emergency department next, but also I like paediatrics, so I'm thinking ED first then specialise in paediatric emergency. And I like teaching so I could teach in the hospital, or I can coordinate, or I could become a nurse practitioner, or if my health declines or something, I could become a university tutor/teacher, or be a high school teacher and teach science and or art. I can always do something and change. Also, I have a diploma in beauty therapy - a trade I can always fall back on

I used to live above a Swedish bakery :) It was the only place I could get decent marzipan (the marzipan in the US is not the same). I say do it if you feel that’s right for you!!

I graduated college in 2014 and I have really been contemplating going back. My youngest will be in school this Aug and I will be home alone! So it's either school or work a job I hate. I'm gearing more towards going back to school and finding a job that I actually enjoy after that lol. Hahah
I feel you with the studies and maybe going back to Uni. I want to move home to Sweden and go back and study to be a psychologist. But another long time dream of mine is to run an ice cream parlour. Make small batches of artisan ice cream. I could do both and call it Therapeutic Ices 😂

I don't personally drink coffee; I prefer tea, but your idea of opening a Swedish coffee & buns / pastry shop sounds good to me. Plus, it would fit into the Mediterranean vibe for the house you previously said you may want to buy in the future in that geographical area. All very cool to me.
