What a great honor to play with three of them, Bill Monroe, Bob Black & Kenny Baker !
A lot of dedication to do that! The drive and timing along with great vocals and harmony. Plus to run it as a business and stay at it all his years. Definitely set a standard that others could follow and enjoy forever.
Mr. Monroe knew how to play for the audience...Even with a language barrier, he played more instrumental then his typical show. Also, by doing a request show the audience was able to participant in the show themselves.
Never knew that Bill Monroe and His Bluegrass Boys were so popular in other parts of the world. Were their featured on Tokyo radio stations? Just amazing.
No one else ever will be able to beat Kenny on the Fiddle!!!-david.
IF you want smooth you want Kenny. If you want wild you get Benny. They were great with Bill.
