  • No, it's not 1999 again and the Compact Disc hasn't suddenly made a comeback, but in this video we will be looking at how to rip a CD into the popular MP3 format, then pop it on a USB stick. To do this we'll being using the open source Free Audio Converter software.

hi very helpful video , but is there any way to burn a cd copy like Pink Floyds dark side of the moon with no gaps between tracks and copying to a usb stick

Fre:ac will simply copy the tracks as they are on the CD. If the CD itself has silences at the beginning/end of tracks that you'd like to remove, after ripping them with fre:ac you'll need to use some third party software like Audacity (this is also free and open source) - you can find the "Truncate Silence" option on the "Effects" menu.
With regards to copying the tracks to a USB stick, you can either use File Explorer to copy and paste them once they've been ripped by fre:ac (and possibly run through Audacity), or you can rip them straight to USB by setting fre:ac's "Output folder" to the USB stick - click the "Select" button to the right of "Output Folder", navigate to the stick and click "OK" to do this.
      Hope that helps.

just buy dvd burner - it can play with higher fidelty and burn better - sony said recenty they quit making blue rays so maybe recordlbe bluerays wont be on the market in a year or two - Use the most expensive cd for storing info like mp3 - I dont know if goldplated burnable kodak cds are still made - but they wont degrade - If they sprayed a colorfilm on the otherside of the cd... it might start degrading making acid that eats the cd . Use 224kbit as lowest or vbr then 175kbit (averge ) might acceptble lowest Same for mpc files and ogg format -lowest accptble ,Smallest Loseeless lossy are not 320 but 440kbit OGG -there is a diffence to cdlike full music . a note - if you like jazz then WMA might be prefeble as lossy format . Im not fan of mp4 much

@@JkaninteangemittnamnI haven’t seen the Kodak discs since the kiosks for photo development stopped being in places like Walgreens or CVS.
