  • The MR2 is back! Huge thanks to Primedriven.com for doing the swap super quick and with great quality as always! I've had an issue for a while where this turbo is known to have the wastegate stick open and not return closed so I decided to upgrade the wastegate actuator to a Mamaba Turbo billet actuator. This isn't meant to be a DIY, but more of an automotive vlog. Part two with custom drain and feed lines:

I had a couple of Toyota (1990) Celica All-tracs back in the mid 1990s. The best upgrade I ever did was I sent my CT26 turbo out and had the housing cored out and a larger impeller wheel installed. Sorry, I don't recall which company did the work, or any other specifics, but I do remember it decreased my air intake temp by like 30 degrees centigrade, thus resulting in more power. Had a slew of other upgrades done, too. Sold it in the early 2000s, got married, kids, house, etc....
    Cheers !!

Turbochargers that are journal bearing are supposed to have some shaft play. Just like your crank/journal bearings, there must be a gap in between the journal bearings and turbine wheel shaft for the oil to lubricate the surfaces. Brand new, all journal bearing turbos will have shaft play, totally normal.
