Ur a real hero to me, Ive been at it for some time now trying to break the wheel loose, I knew there had to be a better way then dragging it to relocate. However not a single operator knew any other way. 15 years we’ve had it, loaned it out 15 times surely. Not a one nope never knew!!!

Two years we busted our butt lifting it out of the shed and "driving" it 400' to the garden. Thought about a second shed, closer to the garden but... THIS IS FANTASTIC! Thank you.

    OH MY!! Thank you!
I bought this tiller used at an auction for $20! I didn't even knew if it ran. That was a few years ago. I was worried the engine or gearbox was locked up. Got it home and attempted to start it. IT RUNS, YAY! And it moves, but only if the engine was running... and only very slow. Moving from my garden shed to the garden is a bit of a drive, at a low speed. Not to mention running the blades above a concrete driveway! I knew I was missing something.
So simple! Such an simple piece of engineering too! No need to put a neutral mechanic into the gearbox. Simply disengage the axle from the wheel! Genius! Thank you again for sharing!

Yes I,'m shouting, because you are absolutely correct. As unbelieveable as it is, there is no video other than yours on how to get the tiller to move while the engine is off, because I have been looking for one! I'm considering buying a new tiller and I've been used to using tillers that will roll even when the engine is off. So I wanted to know how difficult this might be if I bought one that you had to remove the cotter pin. So this will help me in my decision and thank you again so very much!! 😊

Briggs. Have a late 70s early 80s tillsmith rear tine tiller that I bought off craigslist. It has no reverse, neutral,or different speeds. You start it and engage the transmission to go. It broke down on me and I had to get it back to my shed to repair it. I liked to of killed myself trying to move it while it wouldnt run. I'm in the process of putting a predator engine on it,but I've gotta fab some brackets to attach my clutch arm and cables too. I'll pull the bolts out of the wheels and see if it can be done this way too. If it can I'll replace the bolts with pins. Thanks, wish me luck.

Nice! My TB tiller has bolt and nut for pins. I bought two pins like yours from an Ace hardware store that seemed to fit well however when I ran it I hit a big root and sheared both pins. Your pins are all silver the ones I bought were a yellowish gold color zink plated obviously made of cheap steel. Did you buy your pins? Where did you get them and what are their proper size?

That is great BUT my wheels were rusted up when I bought my tiller at a yard sale and I have tried every thing but cannot get them loose. I even laid it on its side and put PB Blaster on it every day for the entire winter and they are still stuck from rust and I even called Troy Bilt and they said that I may not be able to get them loose. But, I have a good little tiller at a bargain price.

You can drive it were you want to just don't put the depth bar down. It will glide over the ground on it. My pony had free wheel without moving the tires in when it wasn't running.

Every Year, take the wheels right off and grease the shafts. They tend to rust solid to the shaft, and then you will have a VERY difficult time moving them in future... I had to strip down my tiller (that I bought used) and use a huge hydraulic press to remove the wheels.
