I hate how they’re mixing the two shows. A spin off is a spin off. Keep it that way, stop mixing everything together. This will end up like the marvel shows.

@@Reidy12345 why can't you make a spin off show that fans can like without mixing it with the main show. having a spin off that is based off the main show, or further builds the world is fine. for example, better call saul or young sheldon. it is not necessary to watch better call saul in order to watch breaking bad. And tbh, you probably would be fine watching better call saul without watching breaking bad. what gen v seems to be doing is mixing the shows together basically forcing you to watch both shows to understand the story.
Hopefully they check out Gen V with Carter later

The pacing of the episode wasn't very good. There's a lot of time wasting. Starlight and Frenchie and Kimoko are totally sidelined with bad storylines. This season is definitely weaker than previous ones.

What was stupid is Hughie's mother injecting her ex husband with a drug she knows nothing about.
it was UNBEARABLE to watch them jab at her constantly. ESPECIALLY after knowing not only did she have postpartum depression, but gave Hughie's dad the V because she didn't want to leave him without a parent since she left when she was young. These men are so slow they're no willing to put two and two together. Or extend any sort of empathy towards starlight, hughie's mom, kimiko, or frenchie. the only guy that seems to have a brain and morals is the guy with glasses. no wonder he's the quietest--they're usually the brightest.

The writers intentionally write her scenes to be sus. Even her coming out of the blue having worked for Vought is clearly meant to be suspicious. How would she not know about A-Train kllng his girlfriend and paying them off? It's either foreshadowing for her character to have an ulterior motive or as a red herring. Can't blame ppl for not automatically trusting a new character.

Did peole forget what show we are watching, they 100% have been giving her sus scenes. Keep it up not everyone on the internet sees things the same and expecting them too isnt realistic.

I'm glad McKay brought up the fact that it feels like we missed something between S3 and S4. I mentioned it on a previous episode reaction and got flamed in the comments because apparently I was upset about the politics when I was actually just talking about the fact that the writing and plot/character development feels like I was supposed to watch a different show or comic book or something to know why Starlight went off the rails, or how MM became the team lead, or what happened with Frenchie to make him so ultra doomer, or what happened to Billy, or how the presidential candidate guy got caught up in things and how his agenda works. Idk. Maybe it's illegal to question writers or something.
I think they plant the seeds of whats happening at the end of the season before, then start the next season showing what happened. Like end of S2, MM's lady was mad at him. Then S3, MM's lady has a new man that his daughter cares about. We are meant to just assume what happened in the mean time.
Frenchie doomer has always been a thing, maybe you missed the episodes of him dealing with the Russian women tormenting him.
Seems no one payed any attention to the headpopper story line and massive plot twist when she blew up the Fresca cult guys head, because she's running as VP and had the whole anti-supe thing with Hughie, It's weird people missed all that since it took up the majority of story time for like 2 seasons and was the primary plot involving all characters and was discussed extensively on why it's a problem. She'll kill her running mate and become president since no one even knows she's a supe. It's been the primary plot for a while even in this season it's talked about a ton. Maybe people are just on their phones or skipping scenes to the gore too much idk.
The rest is fair, there was a time jump, like it was weird how we learned Butcher took V that Frenchie had (why did he have that) a few months ago. I feel like maybe we should have not relied on a flashback for that, some weird choices but nothing egregious. Maybe letting firecracker run away, that was really dumb, or Annie not short circuiting all the cameras (even by accident) when she beat ass.

Yes this episode was so filler even though they introduced THE VIRUS 🦠 CAPABLE OF KILLING SUPES and had numerous scenes full of development for both homelander and Ryan 😂

And the other side stories was very character driven don’t you think
1. Hughie having to let his father die a peaceful death
2. Frenchie dealing with his guilt
3. Atrain getting the 7 minus sage off his back which ends up SAVING HIS LIFE
