- Have you seen an electric skateboard with modifications crazier than this? I don't think so. This board is equipped with dual car horns that will alert vehicles and move out your way and the turning signals will indicate drivers and other riders when you attend to group rides, with RGBIC led strip lights, AirTag, Carry Handle and etc. Might as well make it street legal at this point with a license plate đ. I hope you enjoyed this video, what other modifications should I add to this board? Please like and subscribe and stay tuned for more upcoming videos đ!

Love the video!! Good Job Daniel!
This was wildly helpful man thank you
This is actually my first time learning about electric boards because I havent even seen one irl. The concept seems great would love to try it.
Appreciate it man!
Super travail ! Merci
Thatâs crazy AWSOME man đŻđ„đ„đ„
Been waiting for this
Damn the quality of the video is great đđ
Awesome video, thanks. I was just looking on aliexpress for blinkers for my board and you helped out.
Came through with the video!đ„
đČ dude, this is just really awesome. Love the horns and the looks of the people you pass by đ

That's badass dude.
Nice job brotha, very well thought out and tastefully modified
Thank you bro appreciate it!
Great video man! I just broke my Hurricane so I am wainting for replacement parts but these tires and horns I love them!
You have horns too yo wowwwwww đ„đ„đ„đ„

Awesome Video⊠love the edit.. very informative⊠where were you wolf pond??
Nice work! Amazing setup! Blinkers and a horn on a eskate is a genius idea. And especially the hidden electronics. I wish I' d live in a country where eskates are legal. But here I have to try to be stealthy with my board.
Thank you appreciate it!
Nice job

Oh itâs definitely possible if you need help dm me
Great video , definitely getting those tires , getting 2 flats a month , had 2 flats this week , only ride on pavement and very little grass
Appreciate it bro glad I could help!
I am very impressed
Thank you!
thanksss bro
Youâre a F*cking genius man đđŒ
sick mods bro.
ABSOLUTELY FUCKIN SICK BRO
Great video, I've been thinking about getting an electric skateboard for a long time. Have you thought about using some diffusers on those led strip lights?
No I have not but thereâs a more expensive version and itâs RGBIC called a Light Strip by the same brand
I bought the same exact 12v battery pack to add lights to my electric board, after doing research I was able to find a tiny 3 inch X 1inch buck down converter that can fit inside my esc enclosure and ditched the battery pack, I used a xt60 splitter to hook up the wires and avoid voiding my warranty, then added a latching switch to turn it on/off. For the leds the vibrations destroyed mine every time and the adhesive sucked so I bought a rock led strip which were screwed on and had a hard plastic enclosure to prevent damage from impact.
I would do a buck converter as well but I donât have any save in there anymore
How does the hurricane all terrain wheels do vs a 2 inch crack? Is it pretty good or are cracks still a major threat? I have a $400 e skateboard and it has rather thick wheels and still has issues
Oh yeah of course lol if 90mm wheels can do it then AT for sure
Hella horn bro. 4:39
Yea Hella
Pretty awesome work! I'm thinking about putting that handle, but I just ordered the cyclone 110s wheels. Do you think it will be okay with those? Thank you!
Thank you bro and yes it should be fine đ
Hey nice upgrade man. your board its close to mine however mine its a DIY not MEEPO. we even have the same tires. lol
love the video. Is striplight length suitable to board length. Do you need to cut a littleïŒAND HOW sticky is itïŒ
Yes itâs suitable to any board length 2in1 and below and you can cut it to your preferred length. Itâs actually really sticky but I recommend you wipe your board down with alcohol wipes and when you Apple the strip light use a hair dryer to make it sticker.
So on the govee lights, did you just take the housing off the control module so it would fit inside the board or is that new separate module? Can you show a little more detail on how you have it attached to the bottom of the board, like direction, position, if it makes a complete circle or just 2 strips, etc. Did you splice the LEDs?
Yes I took off the housing and wrapped with foam for cushioning. I didnât splice the LEDs I just bent the strip at the corners where you would cut the light. I recently spliced the LED on my Atlas maybe Iâll make a future vid on that
hey man i had a quuestion about the trampa tires, can you use the old meepo tire hubs and inner tubes or did you have to get new ones
I used my old Meepo hubs and they worked just fine!
@@esk8nyc did you have to buy new inner tubes too?
@@corbanperkins308 nope you could either use your 6inch tubes or 7inch doesnât matter since itâs 6.5inch 165mm
Pretty much
Hey bud. Any advice on mboard tires vs trampas? (ricky everet vid had them installed btw - i saw you comment on it :)). Trampas are $95 and mboards are $60. Just curious if you think premium is worth it. I'd say they wear out as quickly as the original Meepo tires and are a little less stable. Thanks!
The Sunmate Tires are ok but Iâm pretty sure they wear out quicker than the trampas. The trampa tires are well balanced and they will actually increase your top speed as well since itâs 6.5inch
Did you change bushings? Maybe test replacing double kingpin for more stability with a normal truck
I was thinking about changing the DKP trucks to TKP but Iâm still searching for options because going 35mph with DKP isnât a great idea
Thatâs a legit hoverboard
You mean electric skateboard?
@@esk8nyc nah man, pretend your in caveman times. This tech is a straight hoverboard basically
What would you pick? A hurricane or the eovan super?
Very hard to pick, I like both boards they are both very powerful and up on that Leaderboard
Where do you find the side leds ? It looks like Dualtron scooters leds. âĄïžâĄïžâĄïž
Link to all of the mods is in the video description below
ok i need horns now. do you sell the 3d printed battery holder?
You can reach out to SmallSoeedShop on Instagram he can 3D print it for you
instagram.com/smallspeedshop?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
You didnât speak about the headlights and taillights I think. Where did you get those and how were they powered ?
Those are called shredlights itâs pretty popular for esk8ers so I figured not to mention not really an upgrade
@@esk8nyc ohh I figured, I knew about shred lights but always found them to be a little expensive. Before I even saw this video I had been researching coming up with a way to wire one those 18650 battery packs and a 12v mountain bike light or an off-road led light from eBay or something like that. I just havenât found a way to get the amps and watts measurements right so everything doesnât blow up đ but what do you think. Running another battery and some lights that way might give more light and the benefit of charging only the battery pack
@@hyderjaved5895 follow my Instagram Iâll send the headlights prototype Iâm currently working on rn 4000lumens wired, turn on/off from remote
I was thinking what it would be like if the horns could play music insteadđ€. Would people (drivers and pedestrians) be more cheers on the streets as you were approaching close to them?
Could probably wire a speaker system but I like to scare pedestrians to get out of my way lol

Hey man, I live in a fairly snowy city in Canada and I was wondering how the Hurricane fares in those kinds of conditions. Seeing as you're from NYC, I guess you had to try at least once. If you did, how'd it go for you and what kinds of mods/maintenance should I be in for?
Thanks
Are you planning on riding when it snows or in snow?
@@esk8nyc both. I'd use it as a commuter and that's only around 3-5km
@@booty4031 well I have ridden my hurricane when the grounds were wet and roads filled with salt no problem whatsoever. I never got water into the enclosure unless there was water poured on top of the board. Also the battery is protected in a case which is a plus and with the Hurricanes power that board will rip it through the snow lol. I would recommend you to get more off-road knobby tires for better grip and to wipe the board down if itâs wet to prevent rust đ
@@esk8nyc Oh sweet, glad to hear the seal is strong! do you do any kind of extra maintenance on the belt when you ride it in wet conditions? Also I heard that metal belts were a thing but I'm not sure if it would be applicable to my situation... Last thing, what wheels would you recommend for my case?
Thanks again :)
Not really rubber wonât really be affect from the wetness but belts will wear and tear eventually just a normal thing about belt drive. Luckily for you Meepo just released the Hurricane ultra which has a gear drive option thatâs sealed shut and has more torque and less resistance so it might be better actually less maintenance for you. And for the tires you could get 7inch Evolve knobby tires or search up trampa they have a lot of nice 8inch off road wheel tire options
I wanted to get an electric skateboard for a long time. Do you suggest I should buy one? if yes. which one is the best overall to buy in your opinion?
Yes an electric skateboard is a great start for a new hobby and itâs really efficient for commuting and fun use. If you never skateboarded before I recommend you get a budget board, itâs a great start for a new beginning!
@@esk8nyc What is the best option for a an electric skateboard that is around ~600$
@@Beekitu Backfire, Wowgo, Ownboard, itâs honestly preference
@@Beekitu hiboy is good for electric skateboards
I think a better route (cheaper, less "stuff", better waterproofing, less space taken up) would be to jettison the entire battery power and charging system (why have a tiny battery mounted inches from a HUGE battery with ample power) and just put a DC-DC buck step down converter, plugged into the XT60 battery connector with a parallel Y cable, that steps the battery voltage down to 12V, which you can use to power your 12V accessories, and tiny 12V-5V converter to further step down that 12V line to power all the USB devices. The entire thing could fit into the existing battery compartment, and be cheaper and easier to maintain as well.
I was thinking of that but the board is under warranty so donât want to do any of that stuff. Plus it would drain my battery and give me less range. The maintenance is actually great donât have to charge that little battery for weeks.
@@esk8nyc Adding a DC-DC buck converter won't affect your warranty. If you need to return the board for warranty service, you can just take it out. Your warranty is definitely effected by the grinding cable channels into the top cover, decreasing water resistance, and increasing the chances water damage to the electronics. LED lights and a horn will have a negligible effect on batter life. You might get a few dozen yards less range. You can see this in the miniscule draw on the tiny battery you are currently using.
@@ManifoldSky warranty isnât going to be affected with me making little slits into the cover just so the wires could breathe alittle. Imagine if your motors stopped functioning and customer support said âoh sorry we canât send you replacements since you have little slits on your deckââŠ. Water resistance isnât an issue electronics are accessed from the top unless I rode it in the rain which I have actually and when I opened up the cover there was no water inside the enclosure thanks to the foam. LED and horns donât have that great of an impact but now I have wired in headlights that draw a lot of energy 4000lumens. Plus I could take out the battery if I wanted to, use it as a portable charger. And a buck converter wouldnât most likely fit and it would be a waste of time. Please donât forget this is a production board not a DIY.
did u do 35mph with the standard bushings nothing changed??
Yep in speed mode 3 đ
@@esk8nyc Damn props! Second day on this thing, after trying out 30mph on the first day I got wobbles now I dont wanna go over 25 hahaha. Guess i should tighten the trucks a bit more and/or work on my riding cuz I'm not that heavy (155lb) so ig the bushings are okay. Any setup tips? Rn the front king pins show like 2 threads and the back ones 4. I do have the updated version that comes with 175mm wheels
@@The_Dude_420 yeah man everyone says how the bushings are awful and to change them right away itâs all about practice you need to experienced to be able to ride DKP trucks must people donât understand that. And for the tightening always have your rear truck tighter than the front because the power is all in the back with the motors. Make sure you tighten the two kingpins the same level either the front or back to get that nice carving. Lastly, I canât really tell you how much to tighten them so start it off tight and if itâs too light loosen them all a quarter of a full rotation and see if you like it everyone has their personal choice of riding style đ
