  • Scott Klusendorf presents part 6 of the series "Ethics at the Edge of Life: Clear Christian Thinking on the Most Troubling Bio-Ethical Issues"
Advances in medical procedures, technologies, and drugs have made issues of life and death more and more complicated. As Christians, because we care deeply about life and death issues, we are often tagged as people who are standing against progress and the relief of suffering. Hence, we need help from experts to understand what is really going on in modern medicine and how to make a persuasive case in the public square for the Biblical views. Christian experts on bioethics, Dr. Scott Rae and Scott Klusendorf, help us understand and defend the biblical position on the most difficult subjects: abortion, euthanasia, reproductive technology, and more.

This was the first pro life series of videos I ever saw back in 2012, we don't have any content like this in Australia, so I binge watched this to learn the arguments and bought Mr Klusendorf's book. The Case for Life, which I highly recommend.

Compelling and convincing. As Sgt. Friday of Dragnet used to say, "just the facts ma'am." Klusendorf presents clear and convincing evidence of the humanity of the unborn that cannot be denied, not be science or philosophy.

The problem with relying on embryology is that they can change embryology to say something different. Just because the text books said something in the past doesn't mean they will say the same tomorrow.

Yeah nice try Crawford. Any leading embryology textbook will tell you the unborn are humans. Size, location, level of development, and degree of dependency don't determine your species membership. All in all, the premise that a zygote is a human just like a infant and teenager are humans also, is supported as a hard scientific fact for well over 50 years. No amount of sophistry can change that hard fact.

I'm very late on this, like 6 years or so but your argument is dumb. Yes, scientifically a zygote is a human just like a baby and a teenage human are. Also, scientifically a house cat and a Tiger are the same species as well. Scientifically there's virtually no difference between us and a Chimpanzee (Our DNA is 99 percent the same). Scientifically a wild wolf has literally the same structure as a Golden retriever. Scientifically Lobsters and Crabs are part of the same family as mosquiots and flies. See the problem here? In fact, some of my comprassions make even more sense since there's virtually no difference between a cat and a tiger and a wolf and a Golden retriever besides size and muscle mass while a zygote and fully grown baby have major differences i think you'll find

0:13:45 ...so let me understand,...... if I find myself in a case of fire in my research lab, first I save my daughter, then I save my stuff, then twenty people i don’t know ( if they aren’t roasted by then) , then a newborn, then twelve frozen embryos and then any pots of flowers. And ‘equal’ but ‘reverse’ affection is morally expected by any of us ? It is all clear to me now. Let’s talk about how human, an embryo is.

I have a question about the burning lab dilemma: in one corner are two fertilized eggs that are yours. In the other corner are N number of newborn babies (who are not yours). You can either save your two embryos or the N babies. What is the minimum N in order for you to save the babies? Can N be 1 or 2?

Why can't doctors and scientists take the unborn rather than abort him or her but place them in a special place to grow?

whats a good argument for people who claim that abortion is okay before 12 weeks, because an embryo's organs are not present yet and can therefore not be defined as human beings?! help i need this for my pro-life paper!!

What are you talking about? God forms us together. God forms us AND THEN breathes the breath of life into us!
