      Hey Paul believe it or not but I actually don't own any of them steelbooks. It really is amazing I have around 30 Steelbook from Arrow video and you just happened to name the few that I didn't have. The gates of hell trilogy is something that I desperately want for my collection. I need to look but I might have one of them now that I think of it. Candyman and Carrie as well look fantastic. Really need to catch up on my arrow Video steelbooks. Thanks again Paul for coming over and checking out the video. I hope you're doing well my friend

      Ya can grab the Carrie & candyman ones for cheap enough still..they gates of hell ones are a pretty price now tbh but are the best art wise IMO.
      Ye bud quiet Christmas, have covid atm but were all good, had one day of feeling quite sick but after that we were all good just have to isolate now so can do nothing but chill & watch films..& that’s what i do anyway lol

I'm not feeling the greatest myself at the moment and believe it or not I'm trying to get a PCM test but it's nearly impossible over here in Ireland at the moment so I'm just quarantine myself. God will this ever end.

    Hi Keith,
    A fine list of great looking steelbooks from your collection, i do collect steelbooks but only for movies that i truly love & get repeated viewings, i do have that "Weird science" steelbook, which is hard to turn down with that shot of Kelly Le Brock, "Porkys" a comedy classic, the shower scene gets me every time ha, ha.
    "Day of the dead" has really grown on me many years later, cracking looking steelbook, actually bought & watched recently "Lifeforce" that first steelbook edition of "Big trouble in Little China" goes for crazy money, i do have the Zavvi steelbook edition which i"m happy with, but yours is damn beautiful !
    "The Burning" slasher classic & the raft scene is still horrific in by today"s standards, "The Burbs" a superb movie, it has everything in it, & a superb cast also. Fine collectors editions on show here, your "Big trouble in Little China"steelbook has to be the nicest one here in my opinion.

    A very good start to the morning with a video from yourself!
    Man I haven’t seen Porky’s in such a lo no time but that scene in the principals office where they’re doing the sketch is absolutely hilarious and the egg prank lol
    The Burning for me I only watched last year and it’s not my fave slasher but it sure is an entertaining one lol that camp fire scene is so jarring because of the music but I love it.
    Great video kind sir 😎

      I don't think there's a whole lot of of love out there for life force. Which is a shame because I think it's a very decent tobe Hooper movie. Thankfully arrow did a fantastic job on this release and it really looks beautiful. I will never fully understand some of the movies that got banned in the 80s. As a matter of fact I still find it strange that Texas chainsaw was banned for so long over here in Ireland. I seen movies 100 times worse in the 80s

I agree with The Burbs transfer 🥴 all these Steelbooks are REALLY nice!! I think people forget how good Arrow are when it comes to doing them.... one I had that was lovely looking was Tenebrae and also I thought Zombie Flesh Eaters actually wasn't that good, the artwork was a bit hmmmm for me! • @dr.impossibleofcounterpunc1984

    Always great to see a varied cross section of films. How I remember going to London in the mid-1980's and getting a chance to see Big Trouble on the big screen with another classic Fox title Aliens. Those were the days. Big Trouble wasn't a box-office success back in 1986, and Aliens didn't do too well either. It's only been through renting these titles on VHS and TV screenings in late 1980's through to the the 1990's that gave both films their rightful status as hits. I think both Aliens and Big Trouble premiered on ITV in the UK. God, it must be a good 30 odd years ago now Keith. How time goes....keep well, and Happy New Year!

    • @millerman9991
      @millerman9991  Před 2 lety +1

      I unfortunately never had the privilege of seeing Big Trouble in Little China on the big screen or Aliens. Aliens is without question my favourite movie of all time and I would have loved to have seen on the big screen. Unfortunately over here in Ireland the never seem to screen old movies like they do in the States. But I still have hope that someday I will see both these movies on the big screen. Happy New Year to you my friend and I wish you all the best for the New Year.

      @@millerman9991 how do I get the feeling that Fox probably will never serve up these two films for a limited run at the cinema. Since Disney took on Fox, they've been very closed shop about their back catalogue. It would be nice to see Big Trouble at somewhere like the BFI in London's South Bank. Maybe a two night screening would be rather nice. I would go in a flash. I even had the CBS/FOX Video video shop poster on my wall with that stunning artwork. 1980's dished up some cracking films. 👌

    • @millerman9991
      @millerman9991  Před 2 lety +1

      It's funny you said that because as soon as I sent you that message that's the first thing that entered my head was the fact that 20th Century Fox is owned by Disney. There is no way we will ever get special screening for either of them movies

    • @dr.impossibleofcounterpunc1984
      @dr.impossibleofcounterpunc1984 Před 2 lety

      @@millerman9991 Yep. Fox/Disney will probably keep these films for future streaming services. Any restoration work will be done to lure people in to these services. The Abyss being one example. Cameron certainly won't release this film on any physical media platform, so I would imagine that the film, if it get's a restoration, will probably be exclusively available through Disney + down the road, when Cameron feels like doing a full overhaul of the film. I would love to see the original cinema releases of the Star Wars films released on 4k. But that's never gonna happen.
