    I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. czcams.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

    Thanks for posting. I am debating moving to a JD zero turn for our 6-acre lot after mowing it with a 72" Mid Mount on a JD 2520 compact tractor for 7 years. Seeing the quick turns helps me understand how this could speed things up considerably. Now, to decide between the diesel (Z994) and the gas. Watching this, it seems the gas would be sufficient.

    *My yard consists of roughly 3.5 acres of "mowable" area with several small hills **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend and valleys and tree-beds scattered throughout. Not only did the mower do a great job, but at the end of cutting the entire lawn, I STILL had 35% left on the battery.*

    Maybe a stupid question, but what happens, invariably, with dry dead grass that lies on top of the lawn ? Do you have to keep going over it on a higher cut to evenly distribute it ?

    Just a thing with me but I outline my cutting area and then arrange to make as long a pass as possible...more efficient and usually aesthetically better proven when finished....if you spend more time cutting than spinning at the end of a pass...you get more done...

      @@nji345 Man plenty of people on here who don't seem to understand the concept of rough cutting and mowing large properties/acreages lol. Must be from the UK or somewhere in Europe where they appear to be pretty pedantic about picking everything up. Watched this a couple times now. Love the 950r looks like an awesome machine. Don't worry, here in Australia we hate bagging grass as well. Side discharge, rear discharge or mulch is the way to go!

      @ggolds5 Před 6 lety

      I know it sounds like a stupid question, but Ive used a mulching mower my whole life and we are moving - hopefully, and that will mean a lot bigger lawn. With that said, if we have a ride on like this JD does the lawn have to be bagged or mulched or is that not important anymore?. thank you.

    • @nji345
      @nji345  Před 6 lety +3

      ggolds5 I never mulch. If You’re going 2 mulch where I live you have to mow every 2 to 3 days. And this client only wants her yard mowed every two weeks. So mulching does not work.

    You shouldn't cut grass with a sideshoot like that. You need to start from the middle and work out so you are not throwing clippings onto uncute grass. That will but the mower under more pressure when cutting!!!!

      Darragh Mc Mahon if you do it your way the next time you mow the mower will have it struggle in the middle part but none of the rest of the yard. The way I do it it spreads all of the clippings over the hole yard instead of just the middle of the yard. Making the mower stay under the same load.
