    Back in the 70s in my teens, when I was learning to play this instrument, I had the privilege of playing one of these trumpets loaned by a friend. Wow, what a sound! Of course, way out of my price range back then, and probably still out of my range. Hope that vintage Seller is still around.

    What do you recommend and why as to the material used to make the piston valves, monel, nickel or chrome...?

    • @aaronhanson7241
      @aaronhanson7241 Před 7 lety +2

      Jesse Nelson Monel was discovered by Vincent Bach I believe mainly because it created a good seal and for it's time was the best material for pistons and he used it for a lot (all?) of his trumpets, idk too much about chrome or nickel though

    Hey hey hey another multi-instrumentalist! I envy you for figuring out strings (im still working on them) as for percussion my hands are showing Carpal tunnel and arthritic signs so percussion is a lost cause (save for keyboards that is) How long did you wait to learn others? I picked up my 3rd through (well the rest of the winds) during my junior and senior year of high school, What about you?

      Well as a multi instrumentalist, do u ever Master an instrument or do u just get bored once u can play a few tunes, so u pick up another instruments? I feel like many so called multi instrumentalists are just not patient enough for one instrument

    • @LowReedExpert1
      @LowReedExpert1 Před 2 lety +1

      @@noonberrysofficial2086 Back when I made this comment, I'd've probably fit in the "get bored" category because I was more focused on trying to learn everything about everything. Now that I've narrow stuff to Saxes, clarinets, flute, voice, and trumpet I have a lot more focus because there is finally more consistent progress being made.
      There are definitely quite a few who just jump because they're bored, but there is also the category that I was/am(?) in- those who want the first hand experience.
      Also, aside from the "you never 'master' an instrument" semantic answer I'd say multis become something like a Jack of all trades but master of One. Very few people are evenly talented across their loadout - that's not usually the point, long-term. It's easy to play, write, and get hired for music if you can fit the situation. It's a matter of finding a client that fits you, and fitting the client
      Sorry for the long comment lol
