It is a straight-through from Reception to Year 1, and that's why you need to get the school place right from the beginning, i.e. Reception. The main admission process of a state primary school is at Reception. After that point, you will have to apply for in-year place, because if the school is popular, the places will already be filled up during the admission process at Reception.
However, it is still possible to have places available at other school years (including Year 1) at many state primary schools because families do move to other places or switch schools, especially in primary school years.
If we come to UK after 30 Oct 2020 and would like to participate the 2021 secondary school admission. Is it still possible? "Fri 11 Dec 2020 Deadline for the upload of late applications to the Pan London Registry." Is this saying that we could still apply for late applications before 11 Dec 2020 ? Thanks a lot!!!
Yes, some councils do mention on their brochures or websites that they would still take in late applications a few weeks after the official deadline, if there is an acceptable reason. They might also mention whether the late applications would he handled together with all other on-time applications, or they would be handled after the main round of admissions is finished. It's best to check the council's published information.

有關小朋友的資料, 主要係出生日期和名字, 學校, 住址等. 申請表要填英國地址, 而且係填表時家庭所居住的地址, 因此佢假設您填表時已身在英國.
唔好意思, 雖然唔關中小學派位事, 但都想喺度問下, BNO Visa到英國讀大學, 幾時先可交本地生學費？係滿足3年residence就可以, 還是要等5年搞到ILR先可以？謝謝！

英國小學多數都係比較活動教學, 不會訓練抄寫背誦, 功課很少. 小朋友用拼音串字, 從小培養閱讀的習慣, 學校裏常鼓勵寫作, 所以英文讀寫能力普遍都唔錯. 數學的方法就不及香港快, 但著重思考和解難. 中學功課較多, 但不是做練習問題那種, 而是要做RESEARCH 和整合.

1) 您在租約正式開始前預早通知local council 您會在哪天搬進去的話, council 一般能在1至2周內就會把Council Tax Bill 寄到. 2) 中學派位大約9月開始接受網上報名, 小學派位大約11/12月開始接受網上報名. 3) 英國的COUNCIL 講明, 您的住址需要係您遞申請表時的家庭住址, COUNCIL 若有懷疑的話, 可以進行random check, 睇下個住址係咪真係您家庭住址. 可以的話, 盡量唔好冒險. 另外, 一般租約都會講明, 如果您打算連續21日不在居所之中, 您需要預先告訢屋主, 因為涉及保安和保險的問題.

我知道有英國地址之後才可以向council申請公立學校,所以現時沒法申請公立小學
問題
1.現在聯絡當地council及小學詢問空缺情況, 沒有地址証明前他們會回覆我們的查詢嗎?
2.現在有空缺與來年的情況不一樣
萬一心儀的小學沒有位, 我就要去其他地方租屋, 但以上的情況會不斷重覆, 應如何處理或取捨?
還是總之是心儀中學的catchment area 之內都可以
學校可能會回覆目前的空缺情況, 但對您來年未必有參考價值. 等到您來之前一兩個月問就差唔多.
以心儀中學為目標搵地址, 係最好的策略.
請問如果揸BNO，準備11月左右租到或者買到樓，咁就可以申請council tax, 但要1日先可以正式申請visa有resident 証明先可以向council 申請 state school? 咁1月15日前唔會咁快就批到visa, 請問Reception 派位是否不可行，都要等批咗Visa先可以交admission form? 🙏

如果孩子一開始入學時就已經遲一年入學, 或者有機會Council 會接受她入讀細一個學年, 但由於11月出生在英國來說係大女, 所以都未必有把握, 仍然需要到了英國時試下向Council 申請讀細一個學年, 但最好有哂學校信證明一向都係讀細一個學年.
請教, 有一個小朋友，11歲，仍研究邊度落腳（無住址證明），應該邊個月份報讀公校year 7做插班？（今年9月前，還是等到明年1月先出發？）
到埗有地址後馬上申請插班.
如果能早啲到, 當然最好. 孩子能有機會在學期初插班比起在學期中段插班好.

@@jojochan2118 是否需要全家同行, 這個實在需要等到正式的immigration rules and application process 出咗先知, 但若以其他的英國簽證類別做參考的話, 小朋友要過來, 基本上係要父母雙方都過來, 因為可能牽涉到法律問題. 一旦申請咗, 就要按所規的日子期限內過來 (通常係三個月), 唔可能申請咗, 然後過幾年先過來. 至於申請私校, 若然需要搵私校報私校的服務的話, 可電郵我 ngkwansee@gmail.com, 我係一間公司的教育顧問, 可以提供服務.

因為英國政府想申請移民的人以行動證明有確實的移民意慾. 這個180日的規定在英國其他移民簽證類別都有出現, 不單單是BNO VISA.
第二條問題，本人過去做開荒牛，處理好自己所有工作及居所問題之後，先叫我太太同仔仔一齊嚟英國？我太太同樣有BNO
一家人能否分開申請BNO VISA, 這個仍未確定, 等Immigration Rules and application procedure 出咗之後, 才會更清晰.
