  • Victor Marx is a high risk humanitarian, former U.S. Marine, author, filmmaker, and lays claim to the World's fastest gun disarm.
This is a three part series that covers his life story. In part one, Marx recounts a childhood marked by severe abuse. By the time he graduated from high school, his lifestyle was filled with drugs, fights and theft. Yet, the discipline of the military and his steadfast faith would reset the course of his life. This episode is extremely graphic. Viewer / Listener discretion is advised.

I didn't know my traumatic upbringing wasn't normal until high school. I never talked about it to anyone except my siblings because we thought how we were being raised was normal. Not until I met one of my best friends and we exchanged childhood stories. She cried and asked how I was happy and functioning like an average teen. That's when I realized my reality was vastly different than my peers. Once the veil was off my eyes it just opened so much pain. Sometimes I wished I didn't come to that realization. I was happy in the dark. When I became a wife then a mother that changed everything. I'm forever grateful to have that veil ripped from me. I can raise a beautiful, faithful, loving, functional family. 💜 to all those who have been there you're not alone

I think the reason so many people struggle with forgiveness is because they don't understand the true definition of it. Victor, you defined it beautifully. It doesn't mean you're letting the person who hurt you off the hook. It simply means your letting them off YOUR hook and putting them on GODS hook. Forgiveness is not an emotion. It's a decision. So you don't have to all of a sudden trust that person or be besties with them. When i heard it explained to me this way it made all the difference.

    • @TipTop-ze3tn
      @TipTop-ze3tn Před 6 měsíci +3

Same as how most people don't understand how God is able to forgive sinners... that they go on Jesus' "hook" as in Jesus was set fourth by God to be the "propitiation" (took the wrath in our place) for our sins.

He really forgave his father when he prayed for him and then told him he loved him. God had to get him to see his father's soul was going to spend eternity in hell. That makes you love people enough to share the gospel with them even when they don't really want to hear it.
      ‭‭1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV‬‬
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; [2] by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
      ‭‭Romans 3:22-26 KJV‬‬
even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: [23] for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [24] being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: [25] whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; [26] to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
      ‭‭Romans 6:23 KJV‬‬
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Please admit to God that you've sinned against Him and then place your faith in the blood of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sin today.
      God bless you!

This is my type of people who inspires me and continues to remind me I am more than what has happened to me. Yes, no matter what trauma one has endured, it can be overcome. Trauma is not an excuse to harm another. No one need to hurt another because they’ve been harmed, if anything, learn to not hurt another by forgiving, trusting, and loving another. Give to another what was not given to you is a healing gift to your soul and to another. It takes a hell of a lot of work but it is worth rediscovering and gaining one’s life. God bless. 💕

I’m watching this and just blown away. I live in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Glad you were able to forgive. I had to go to my stepdad’s grave to forgive him. When he died, I was 13 and was ecstatic that he died and it was over. You are the only one who has really explained about my mom’s position. Early 70’s and no help for any of us in sight. He was military. We lived on Fort Campbell and no one would believe any of it. I’ve since repented of that. Lol. It took a long time. I’ve long since become a Christian and still the triggers blindside me sometimes. The Father is good so good. Thank you for sharing. It’s been hard to listen to but very timely. Blessings to you and your family.

Never thought in a million years I could be a care taker for the very person who allowed so much harm to come to me as a child. Best spiritual experience of my life and probably hers as well, because she was so sorry, but at the end she knew all was well. Very brave of him to tell his story.

People think things like this only happen in third world countries. We can’t just suppress and hide the evil that is everywhere. My wife has gone through intense childhood trauma and I have grown as a person through her. Everything this guest talks about is now so real to me. Being in love with someone who has suffered trauma like this isn’t easy but the depth in life that she has brought me is life changing. I hope this type of content can continue to reach every demographic of people. To let them know they’re not alone and that there is good in all of us if we choose. Everybody has a story to tell no matter how tragic and you bringing this to light is something that we need to hear as hard as it can be so they can learn to fight back in life and don’t play the “victim “ their whole life or repeat the offense but learn and grow from it and defeat the evil that’s always lurking! @@CassandraV-kl4hq I appreciate you explaining the nuances of podcasting to me. It was interesting and not completely inaccurate.
1.) It is not common for guests to be paid and treated like royalty. It’s usually a win-win situation for everyone. Quite a few but not LOTS of people charge for appearances. Also it is not unheard of for a podcast to charge someone to come on their show.
So far we’ve done no work and spent no money
2.) The hardest part is providing interesting crap consistently. Now without the internet that could be very demanding but…I mean…come on. There is literally no end of content to babble about
So far we’ve made little effort and spent no money
3.) Sponsors and audiences keep podcasters pockets fat
Ads, private funding, donations, merchandising. I wont get into all the ways they are paid like affiliate links, cost per mille, value -based prices etc. So many ways they get paid it’s pretty cool.
      Spent nothin’ did nothin
4.) This one might shock you. Or not. You do not need millions of dollars worth of professional producing equipment to make a great show. In fact you can do all that you mentioned (editing, software, post prod., and so on for $38.00/month
The ending results: We sat in front of a microphone, trolled the internet sharing info/misinfo and spent less than $500/year, and made $50,000/week

What this guy described is what most of us in broken families go through unfortunately, domestic violence, trauma, and sexual abuse... and the lower your economic status is, the more likey you are to experience all three... Toss in a few more mitigating factors and the legacy is passed on to the next generation. It's time for those of us who understand this cycle of abuse to break the bonds that bind us, not only for ourselves but for our children too...

Yes socioeconomics play into his account, BUT the rich and elite do the same thing on a much higher scale. They can child traffic, love PIZZA, lure and groom minors via internet. The Lolita express snagged the movers, shakers, congressmen, actors, eugenicist, athletes, royalty, military. Our world saturated in all of it. Abuse. Violence. Fear. Sex. Some can hide it better. Just hide it better.

“Wow”. As Victor stated to Shawn early on, “ You’re a great steward of people's lives and stories and you reach so many people,
I see God's hand on you Shawn”.
I agree. This was an amazing interview….. I have been a subscriber of your show for sometime, Shawn because of that. It happens I’ve been a subscriber of Victor’s for a lot of years. I know a lot of his background and story but this was so well done - one of a kind show, God only made one of each of us. I pray that each of you Gentlemen and all of yours, fulfill all the books written about you. Psalm 139
    Thank you Shawn Ryan.
Thank you Victor Marx for never giving up or quitting- thank you, Eileen as well.

This sickens me beyond my core. It's also partly some of the reason I got out of law enforcement. It hurts me to say this. But, this isn't the first time I have encountered these horrible stories. When I was a young man in law enforcement. I was asked if I have ever considered becoming a sex crimes detective. But, after the curtain was lifted. I told them I'd rather be the executioner to those who perpetrated those crimes. And that I would volunteer and supply the ammo for free. 24/7. And then my attention turned to the detective who had a picture of his wife and children next to his computer. I asked how the hell he could do this type of work. He said if I don't do this for those children. Then they'll never get justice and never have a voice. Mind you this happened during the most extreme times of the meth epidemic and right after 911. In my mind I was fighting a war in my own backyard. Every once in a while I would get a vet and let them know I honored and respected their service. They would say did you serve and I would say No but I was in law enforcement. Oftentimes there was a disconnect and awkwardness followed. I always felt like a lesser public servant because of those reactions. Maybe it was my own guilt. Among other factors. But, oftentimes other guys in law enforcement who were also in the military. They understood. The first time I met a legit Combat proven Navy Seal who got into state law enforcement. He was nothing that I was told those guys are. He wasn't braggadocious or overly confident. But a person of level headed reasoning. And I remember thinking only God knows what he has been through. A the while I'm cutting hung men down from their cells and giving them CPR. ECT . ..... God Bless all those who serve for the good of the public. Only to suffer in silence with the evil that we all had to witness and endure. Never give up on the Good fight. Even if we fall short at times.

Thank you for these words. My son was sadistically sexually abused by his father Benjamin Nunez jr and his “friend” Caitlyn McGowen, the police didn’t take me seriously even with his injuries and he was only 5 when he told me. I finally now have full custody but bc they didn’t do an investigation they walk free which really made me hate law enforcement. Thank you for being one of the good guys

OMG this interview spoke to me and I had such trauma similar to Victor and I kept it all in a vault until one day I thought I was experiencing a stroke but I was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder. I had been functioning at the fight or flight level for over 40yrs that my mind broke, lost my ability to speak and walk but thankfully I had a team of psychologists help me deconstruct the trauma and I have my speech and mobility back and my children were my biggest motivators to break the cycle. Thank you for this man, your channel and providing a space to open wounds but the victory is what amazing people they have all become. Much love from Australia 💙🙏🇦🇺
