It may seem strange, but this is my favorite Christmas show ever, from Poirot’s excitement at the chocolate shop, to his hilarious reaction to the horrible gloves Japp’s wife knit for him, it’s simply perfect! The murder never dampens my holiday spirit one whit, lol!

I've always watched this episode or at least this piece at Christmas time. Only when I feel that Christmas begins.
My family isn’t Welsh, but we all enjoyed singing around the piano, Japp should have had a book to read if he couldn’t join in.
I'd LOVE it if my family wanted to gather around ANY instrument and sing carols together, to be honest.

For those who aren't from the UK, there is a considerable cultural inside joke here. Inspector Japp says earlier that they're "going to Wales" to celebrate with his wife's family. Now, the Welsh have an infamously profound connection with music, it permeates even daily Welsh life to the point where the ability to play a musical instrument is a requirement to graduate from high school in Wales. The English... well let's just say they've been importing composers for centuries for a reason. It's a wonderfully self-ironic jab from the producers.

@@danilo16410 Thanks! I wasn't sure because I know there were at least 2 Christmas Poirot episodes. I think I have this one on DVD. The other must be the Christmas Pudding.
@@ulylly there's no Christmas Pudding episode that has Suchet as Poirot. I know all 71 movies / episodes that Suchet has ever played in, and there's no such thing as Christmas Pudding :)
