What congregation do they serve in? This needs to go viral. My heart breaks for this young woman. She clearly had been through a really tough time. Reminds me a bit of the ' Apostasy film and I did ask the director of that movie had he seen this clip, which he hadn't. My husband became a JW about 4 years ago. Since then I have come to realize that this unfortunate sect is made up of mainly two kinds of individuals: sadists and masochists. The sadists are the pompous, arrogant hipocrites who will frown upon and belittle all and any who fall short of the Watchtower's nonsensical standards. The masochistic group are those who would do anything for a crumb of approval from the first group of tormentors. Ultimately, their relationship is not with God but with each other and they strive to please nobody but themselves.

I left the religion almost 8 years ago....along with my family! My mother pleaded with me to meet with the elders for a meeting because they felt I was dissociating myself and had to have a formal meeting...I refused to give them that power, and never met with them...I am so sorry for your experience!

My heart breaks for this girl. I hope she never goes back. I grew up as a JW. I regular pioneered and was a zealous witness, despite being Sexually, emotionally and physically abused by my elder father, ( for 14 yrs) he was privately and then publically reproved ( never disfellowshipped.) I was asked at the age of 15 ( in 1980) whether I was encouraging my step father, and what kind of underwear I wore? Are u serious you sicko's??!! My mother bought my underwear from British Home Stores lol. We were moved cong and warned not to tell anyone about the abuse despite it being leaked by an elder on the committee's wife. I left the org in 1990. In 2015 I watched the Australian Royal Commissions investigation into the cover up of sex abuse within the JWs on you tube. I had not been alone. There were thousands of us who have been let down by the Org. Now I am suing the Watchtower. I hope this young girl frees herself from the clutches of these blood suckers and realises there are fantastic people in our beautiful world. That she can go on and have a wonderful life. Yes it will be hard but she will and can find support. I am free and I am extremely proud that I have brought up my 2 daughters alone and they are strong independant woman who can make their own choices in life. They are compassionate and wonderful girls. I am thankful every day that my children have not been brought up as JWs. There is life after the borg!! I urge the girl in this video to seek support and perhaps councelling and I would be happy to help her out in any way I can if she wants to get in contact. Let me say something to you, It took me fifteen years to get reinstated. There was not one time they asked about my family helping me out. I was in my late twenties and thirties. Also, I was doing nothing wrong and made all the meeting while serious sick. M mother had cancer and was dying. The Kingdom Hall was Vancouver Washington Rosemere congregation. Those brother and sister will be guilty and held responsible for how they treated me. Finally, after many years, I went to another hall and was reinstated with in nine months. I can tell you that the elders who reinstated me lied. I can tell you that the elders who refused to reinstated me were not my original elders and they made themselves my original elders which is another lie. I knew nothing about original elder arrangement. I can tell you that the person who reinstated me told me that only the original elders need to know why I was dfd and promised me they would never find out why. Prior to reinstatement the original elders had to meet with me(only one was living) so they put a check on a paper and send it to Bethel. Their conversation was more about the up grade of the kh. They were strangers! I was reinstated then the one who claimed and promise to never find out called the original elder to find out. He probably is dead now, His name was Chuck Martini lied like a big dog. Anyhow, most elders were caught in lies. Meanwhile the congregation was cold. I left because of doctrine lies and I no longer believe in this religion doctrines. Chuck Martini face broke every time he had to see me, knowing he lied. He claimed he wanted to find out so he can help me! Another lie because he told his wife and his wife told the other people! He never apologized for his actions. Also there was another perverted elder on my committee who looked and all the sister bust. Odd! I hope you spare yourself all the hurt and pain of what I went through. The elder who would not reinstated me was famous his name was Bob Card. Everyone admired and respected him a little bit too much! He was Rosemere demi god. They have no right to asked why you wanted to get reinstated considering being able to speak with family members should be a good enough reason. When I was getting reinstated there was not as much on CZcams so I had to go through society books to find the lies. I am a proud Freedom Fighter and hope many will see your video and walk away! I spent time on AOL exJws chat to help others! I had biblical questions and the JWs had no answers to them so I found AOL chat pre You Tube. Forgiveness comes from Jesus Christ. I was terribly sorry for what I had done and that's why I confessed to the elders but they did not see it that way.

She sounds like such a sweet person, and I was so proud that she stood up for her ex by saying that he didn't just want sex, but actually cared for her. I was bristling at the elder saying "worldly" men only want one thing. Surely, they aren't so elitist and sheltered to actually believe that non-JW men are carnal beasts, whereas JW men are asexual. And them spying on her was just creepy. Hopefully, she and her child (if I understood that correctly) are able to have a good relationship with her ex/child's father. Why, if a child was involved, didn't the elders care to help make that family dynamic work, and instead just expected her to cut the ex out of her life? It made no sense.

Well you know that in the story of the Prodigal Son, the bible left out a part. When the father ran out to embrace his son, 3 elders stepped in the way and told the father and son that they shouldn't speak to each other or the father clean out the son's fridge until they had the elders approval.
That's the funny thing about shunning, if you actually read through the Bible, even the Old Testament, more verses speak out against shunning than support it.

I feel for this girl. I was fortunate when I left my mom followed shortly after. I get to see her. Talk to her. Hug her. Tell her I love her and to have her say it back. What would Jesus do? Nothing, because he doesn't exist. As for the elders: yes, they sit in their ivory towers passing judgement on people who are struggling. And the mother and father? Well, they should bloody well love their daughter and their (presumably) grandchild, not shun them. But best of all, all of them should come to their senses and stop believing in anything the bible (or any other religious text) has to say. One last thought: if the woman really was repentant, why would she be recording the meeting? Clearly, there's a little more to the story than we know of.

Hi Pedro. I think it's safer to read many different translations of the bible to get the right meaning. I did read that the King James version has a few errors in there, and since it's publication in 1611 there have been found earlier manuscripts that are more reliable.
+ExJW AGREE: most ppl would not do this. I myself have several different bibles and this includes Spanish. This is how I waked up. All my family are JW. but I BEING a husband and 4 children got them out.

I was asked in my meeting 'what did I do to make my husband mad enough to beat me' - I mean I must have deserved it right? She most likely didn't want to be shunned any more and wanted to be with her family. Was making the tape for her dad to hear her trying. What blame do you take for causing so much pain and anguish Elder Ralph Williscroft? By doing this and causing so much grief to one person and albeit the family of this young woman you have literally not loved the way Jesus loved. He emulated his father in heaven. The governing body obviously do not do so either.
A real christian would not treat his congregants in such a wilful disregard for his sheep. You are mandated by the governing body of jehovah's witnesses to carry out such wilful psychological and emotional abuses on your members. It is now illegal in Scotland to abuse others emotionally. I wait with love for those who have been harmed with this abuse, to take you all to court for it and see you properly fined and the victims compensated for such treatment. Shunning causes suicides. Shunning causes mental ill health. Shunning is not christian. Shunning should be illegal. Which I have taken liberty of approaching the government. Shun away people you don't like, that serve you no purpose, this is fine. But an organisation telling you to do this is mandated by that organisation and is wrong. Jesus would never mandate shunning. Even Jesus washed the feet of a Pagan or as you like to call them, gentiles or nations in your bible. Seeing as I am not a christian now I will leave it up to you as to whether this mandated shunning is loving. I know it is not.
