  • I've suffered with anxiety for a very long time and it's only recent that I've been able to talk about it openly. As I've got older I've felt it's gotten worse and it's taken me till now to actually ask out for help. I'm doing this video as I want to let people understand what it's like to have anxiety and to also reach out to people who have anxiety to share you story and we can help each other!

Anxiety is so exhausting. I honestly don't remember a time when I wasn't anxious. It's all about finding your own coping mechanisms and knowing your triggers. You're not alone.

I'm 24 too and have anxiety since I was 10 after I started getting bullied in school. This year, I realized that it was getting a little out of control when I broke down before the school term started so I did try to get help but the only thing that came out of the appointment was a prescription of anti-depressants so I don't really know if that's the path I want? Hopefully things get better for you soon!

Life is tough but we live not to just exist but to improve our skills, fulfil our dreams. We only got one life so we must take the best that we can from it! There will always be people that are full of envy, hatred and the ones that want to see you getting down but we are strong and beautiful inside so we must fight! Everyone finds their own way. You already made your first step by creating a channel on CZcams where you not only build views but community around yourself too.

my friend suffers from anxiety and it really sucks! especially cos it's an invisible illness and some people doubt the seriousness of it or how much it affects someone's life! stay strong ^^

+James Christopher Exactly people just don't understand and think we will just snap out of it. When that's all we want to do but can't :(

+Quirkycurlsfashion yeah absolutely, especially cos it's not visible and ppl are like 'you lookk fine!' or they make bad comparisons like 'i feel down too sometimes' which kinda invalidates what you're feeling. i totally understand your frustrations and that shitty feeling of holding your boyfriend back when your illness gets in the way of doing something. i suffer from stomach issues and they hold me back big time. 😐😐

Hello, Love. The list below is what has helped me immensely. Xx
1). I started therapy. I went once a week and it honestly was the best thing I've ever done. I became self aware and learned tools to help myself. It was like I had someone who wasn't directly in my life, whose job was to not judge me or tell anyone else, to just spill everything to and get feedback of why things happened and how to avoid it in the future.
2.) I was put on medication by my doctor to help regulate my emotions. I never realize that they work until I don't take them. Because anxiety is a chemical imbalance, I can't control it completely on my own. And it does help.
3rd.) It seems selfish to be centered on yourself and think about what you need, what you want, just all about you all the time, but we need to do that for a while so we can coach ourself later on. "Why am I reacting this way?" "What about this is causing me anxiety?" "Can I avoid it or do I have to make myself?" Things along those lines. I believe we really need to look within ourself in a new light to better help and understand.
4.) This may sound silly, but I also download apps on my phone for anxiety to either coach me to regulate my breathing, distract me, or give me other tips. And it's actually helped a lot.
5.) I HATE crying. I hate talking about feelings of any kind unless I'm angry. I just hate anything about myself that makes me think I'm weak. But it doesn't make you weak to cry or to reach out to others and it's one of the best things you can do for yourself. You're not weak or helpless or anything of the sort. Talking about it, even if you cry, and reaching out, is the strongest thing you can do.
6.) I just want to say that you're strong and brave and though we don't know each other, I am very proud of you. You're great at what you do. And with you trying to better yourself and everything, you can only go up from here. I love watching your videos, you have a great fashion sense, you're for sure model material inside and out, and as you know, there's not a thing wrong with being gay and being attracted to who you're attracted to and loving who you love. It's a beautiful thing and you are beautiful.
Wishing you all the happiness and success in the world. You deserve it.

+Skylar Mccann Thank you so much for this. It really made me realise that there is a lot of things out there than I can do to regulate my anxiety. Thank you for reaching out to me. I'm always here if you need someone to talk too ♥

💯 people just don't get it. They think that we're having an irrational fear, but to us it's not! And it's not a case of just "snapping out of it" or "not worrying", it's almost impossible NOT to feel these ways. I've recently started medication for my anxiety and depression, and I think it is helping somewhat, but as its early in the treatment I can't really say. When I was first offered meds I turned them down too, but now I'm kinda glad I have them. It does get a little easier, you find yourself being able to just 'relax' and kinda switch off. Finally!

+PhoenixFilms This is exactly why I need to go to the doctors, to try again. It comforts me to realise other people have it too. I feel like the only person and that people just don't understand.

Hello Luke, NOW FIRST THINGS FIRST,! YOU are NOT ugly and I don't want to here you say that again. You are a gentle, polite, courteous, sweet person. SO NO MORE mention of people calling you ugly. It's good that your going to see the doctor and don't be fobbed off be assertive and tell them what it's like to be you. Anyway I'm not going to moan at you anymore. So about you going out, you say your full of confidence behind the camera, so you treat each trip out as if you're going on a shoot, only you don't take the camera. When Tom wants to take you out you sy yes and you go, because TOM will not let anything or anyone upset you, HE LOVES YOU LUKE. If he thought anyone was going to hurt or upset you he'd probably slap them. You know what they say the only way you can beat your demons is to face them. I've told you before Luke, YOU are much stronger than you think, you have to be like an actor and put on your character before you go out. Act a part as if your in a video. I've been dragged to all sorts of crap that I hate and even given public presentations, but I put on this act of knowing what I'm doing and be firm and assertive, when it's over I sit in the loo for ten minutes and think, "Thank God that's over". But you must make an effort, make Tom knows how you feel and he'll hold your hand and give you support, get Tom to introduce you to his friends but also get him to tell his friends, This is Luke, my boyfriend and he does fashion and he designs fashion. Get him to tell them a yarn about what a great person you are so it gives them something they can talk to you about.Well I hope you don't mind me telling you all this, but it does work and it has to come from that lovely and Beautiful person that YOU are Luke. Lots of Love take care, from JOHN in Yorkshire.
