BIG BUD Tractor Restoration - 2019 Time-Lapse
Vložit
- čas přidán 29. 08. 2024
- After months we've finally finished working on this BIG BUD! Restorations are never easy but thankfully this one didn't need a lot of mechanical work so it wasn't as extensive as previous builds we have done. Paint, interior, wiring, hydraulics, lights, and decals make such a difference! Large farm tractors like these spend tens of thousands of working hours and need rebuilt from time to time. Our plan for this beast is to use it in spring planting along side our BIG BUD KTA 525.

My fingerprints were probably on that tractor when it left the factory in 79 - I worked in the parts department pulling kits for the factory next door. Besides picking parts, I unloaded tires that were delivered, shuttled CV joints from parts to the paint shop and moved via forklift engines to final assembly.
I wouldn't doubt it! ☺
Wow that's amazing
Gomke?
@Talisman1957 hello how are you doing ?
Clarence (Blackie) Gomke passed away about a couple of months ago in Great Falls.
Yup dad should get 600/50 . That tractor is absolutely beautiful
Dad is the master and commander, he should drive whatever he chooses.
totally agree
Agree 100 percent!!
Yes
They should get him a commodore hat. :)
Dad's Rule! His choice of rides. 🇨🇦
Dad deserves it. Better money spent on the Big Bud than newer equipment. I'm really impressed with the interior work. I would not have the patience for that.
I truly love you aren't afraid to show your love of Jesus. Thanks guys.
The CZcams algorithm worked its magic and played this video randomly just now. I was sitting and praying for Gods direction with things that have been heavy on my heart and i look up and its Joshua 1:9 staring me in the face! Thank you for being a positive influence for Christ and wholesome entertainment i can watch with my kiddos. Keep it up and God Bless from Cotton country in the Texas Panhandle.
Thank you and God bless!
Dad should get the one he wants!
That's what i said too. ha ha
I totally agree dad should get his choice. Now it's time to build a competition pulling tractor. Need more pulling events in the western states. Lucas Oil help.
I agree!! :)
Dad should get his choice.
This, the best maschine with the most comfort goes to the most senior operator.
Our close to retirement operators mostly get a new excavator/Truck 3 years before retirement.
Holywood and Legarms can ride it when senior wont climb the ladder anymore.
I love the fact you guys are Christians and farmers. The world needs more of us Christians. But God Bless you guys. May he bless you in all you do!
Dad gets the newly refurbished tractor 😊
Agreed
Are you from Shafter, Ca.
Dad my vote goes to you of driving the referbish Big Bud you made it all happen by hard work.
You guys are amazing in the quality and quantity of work you get done. I hope the next generations of your family will continue you guys have accomplished. May God bless you and your family’s in the process. What you do reminds me of the poem or prayer of “Why God made a Farmer”.
And this is why your channel is so awesome. Your family is such an awesome team that does a lot of work yourselves still and has the videos to prove it!
Long Live Big Bud.
Beautiful work.
Beautiful tractor.
Beautiful people.
Thank you Lord.
Hallelu Yah!
Dad's the BOSS,
Give him whatever he wants, great job to the whole team. Your family is the "salt of the earth" with what you do and what you've done! Keep up the great work, be safe, keep warm. Blessings from here.
Doug@ the "ranch"
It's great to see so far 2 generations working towards the same goal.
There will be a third generation working on the farm faster than you can imagine.
The children learn early to later take over the farm.
This has been the case for centuries and it will continue.
This is what has kept farming going through eternal times.
God bless you and your families! That was a huge undertaking and it looks great! Keep the scriptures coming!!
Dad is the main part of the legacy you boys are inheriting so only right that he drives it as a mark of respect 👍👍👍
I may not be first
And I may not be last
But when I see a welker video I click fast
😂 👆 😁
so do I
May the blessings of the Lord be with you as plant your 2020 crop. I will be excited to see the Big Bud going through the field because it was a labor of love and you guys did a grand job of restoring the twice loved tractor.
Seems like Dad should be the one to drive the 600/50 in the spring.
Agreed, he didn't get to run beast bine so he should run this!
Amazing to see the time and detail put forth into fixing up the old girl. To watch the time-lapse just got me excited to see the finished product!! She is just preetttty! Hats off Welker Family!!!!
Dad should drive whatever he wants, he is the man.
Your legacy will live forever with this films. Just only the camera work is impressive not mentioning the hard work on the machines. A piece of art- the films and the hard work your put into the machines and the land work. I always will enjoy your work. Keep it up💪👊👍
It's awesome and inspiring to see a good Christian family working together. And I say papa bear gets to choose his ride.
I feel the presence of the Lord in every video you guys make. It is like going to the well and getting a cool drink of water on a warm day. Thank you for your faith and what it means to everyone who watches. Our world seems to be taking a turn for the darkness but there will always be those who carry the light that exposes the darkness. Thank you for your light.
It is amazing to see the amount of work put into this. Your skills and ethic are at a level most people can not imagine. An absolute pleasure to watch.
Wow!! Thank you sir! Proclaiming the word of God, encouraging the people!
I know that you're keeping a really sharp eye
on the Quad Tracs, but I really hope that the
Big Buds will last another lifetime, or two... 😊👍🏻
Great video, great rebuild on a great machine. I can honestly say that I enjoy your restoration projects as much as I do your farming videos, you guy's do great work and I appreciate the way you glorify our Lord, God bless!
Another budtastic time lapse restoration from Welker Farms!!!
Increase in resale value 10%. Money and time invested 100%. This is what I call real dedication.
BTW I was exactly number 20.000 to like this video.
Lovely Bud u got there Welker family.
Dad should drive the big 600/50!! But you guys did an amazing job on the big bud! You should rebuild the other tractor you guys have!! I want to see mini bud get rebuilt!! God bless, be safe and take care!!
Dad is the boss, he should drive the 600/50 Big Bud. Have a great day welkers!
Beautiful job guys...Honoring the Lord at the end was a very nice touch...
Oh no, you forgot the "Power Shift!" sticker. 🤣
Da vid should put a “vario” sticker on 😂
@@dannyfinch6700 ahaha
Yep its not quite complete without that decal!!!!!
You guys truly are Masters of the Craft. I wish I would have had a good head on my shoulders when I was younger. I could have had my Grandad's Kinberger Family Farm. Things happen. But your videos and farming take me back to the good days that I remember. Keep doing what you do. And God Bless.
Your Biggest Indiana Fan, Jocko.
Good to see it finished and out tillaging the countryside.
The 25 bots or people who down voted this are not fans of hard work and dedication.Simply amazing work and craftsmanship. I never miss a upload of yours please keep them coming !
"Farming got in the way" I hope it always take priority, thanks for feeding us.
Yes ,,,,, you guys are the greatest for sharing your farm lives with us. I have gained a tremendous appreciation for what you guys go through to make it all work. Especially love the family comradery you guys enjoy! Your farms is a great role model for the millennials interested in agriculture !!!!
Thank you for another great video. You are all very talented and use what the Good Lord has given you. Praise the Lord for the farmers like you. Bob should be able to use whatever tractor he wants. God bless and I'll be watching for your next video.
Dad is your father and he should be honored with the best you have.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; DO NOT BE AFRAID.. The LORD IS WITH YOU. Exactly what I needed to hear. God is with you WELKERS. Bless you.
You're not done. Still needs the tow hook welded on the front 😃
It's on, just didn't record that part unfortunately! But I'll post pictures of that soon on Instagram and Facebook 😁
LowJack187 tracks on an articulating machine? Sounds like a recipe for disaster
@@samwagner31 Dont tell Case bout the quadtrack or JD bout their RX series then :P
ferremit I know they exist, but they’re engineering nightmares
Lol
I always think its amazing when people restore old machinery, but it's even better when it gets restored so it can be used. Keeping history alive :) (let your Dad drive whatever he wants, hes earnt it)
Papa should get the newly restored Big Bud or whichever one he wants to drive
Poppa Walker, you drive what you want sir. God bless you and all the Walkers. Psalms 119:1.
Dads the boss...HE has made it all possible....he should drive the re-conditioned one if he wants too !!! :) ...well done boys !!!
only 3 words I have to describe the amount of effort put into this restoration.
Labor Of Love
Dad should get a new quad track in the spring
That would be so cool!
I’m with Matt that or the rockin chair
@Case GIVE WELKERS 99% off deal for a 620 quad track
@Matt hewitt hello how are you doing ?
Let Bob drive this Bud! Great work guys, thanks for taking us along.
Bob gets the 600/50 during planting
Bar none the best farming CZcams channel out. You are all great and respectful family. God bless
Who else saw the black paint and thought this is gonna be cool
A tribute to diligence, planning, skill, work ethic, craftsmanship, everything that makes this a great country all personified in this time lapse video. Much praise due, almost hurts to think it will see dirt, snow and rain but hell, you will keep it tip top for another lifetime or two.
Need to a revamp on the Fummins now!
In my opinion, I think that Big Bud tractors have always had the best looking cab interiors. Be good respectful sons and give pops first picks with whichever tractor he wants to use. There wouldn't be a big bud if it wasnt for pops.
After putting up with y’all your dad should drive whatever feels like.
@Chris Attkinsson hello how are you doing?
Linda Baker was
Dad gets his choice of any tractor, period. And Dad at 12:31 is hilarious with the "I Will" !! Thumbs up big time.
There’s a local farmer by me that has 2 buds. Not sure what size, but I heard he is going to be getting rid of them. One doesn’t work anymore but hey if you need parts 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for taking us along on this journey!
Your dad should get the one that he wants
Enjoyed the story fellows . Thanks for incorporating the Scripture ...
Pop gets any tractor he wants. Just hand him the keys!
Broc Luno he prolly has the keys
I thank your dad should drive the big bud thank you for your videos hope you all have a great thanksgiving
Nick looks like teenager next to Leg arms. LooooL
Another masterpiece by Welker Brothers and Dad Restoration Shop. Leg arms makes machining parts look so easy. I have done enough machine work to know I have no idea how to do machine work. Just amazing. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you're an artist.
I think this should be for Mr Bob, he needs a newer tractor.
Bob, you should drive whatever you want! Nice job guys. Thanks for sharing.
Papa bear gets the tractor of his choice! Respect your elders!
I'm sure you guys will give your dad his pick. Very nice job amazing. You guys literally saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in avoiding the purchase of a new tractor. Farmers across the country should take notes.
Are you guys gonna now Restore wagner W4 ??
I knew that this video existed but always forgotten to look it up. Today it just popped up. Fantastic job rebuilding the world’s largest tractor! It looks amazing!
Hey morten buildings these great farmers need some storage!!! Lol. I tried
Not just farmers, but engineers, fabricators and mechanics, family teamwork as t it's best.
Dad should have his pick and then refurbish his tractor.
Dad gets first dibs. Enjoy your story line.
There should be no
Thumbs down !!!
HERE , I THINK ANYBODY WHO GAVE IT A THUMBS DOWN, ARE LOST !
The Man that writes the check can pick his own ride ! the question is what the boy's drive ? Ya Gotta Love a "BIG BUD" ! Great job on the rebuild.
Would love to see y’all build the 747
Amazing. I'm still a farm kid at heart and your videos just make me drool. 2 things: 1) There has been a 525/50 Big Bud for sale in Dawson Mn for about a year. I last saw it fall of 2019. It's never been a field tractor, it was used by the local contractor to pull a huge knife for laying drain tile. 2) As near as I can tell, the 747 has been retired. With your abilities, you should get it and restore it. :-) Keep up the great work!
The Big Bud looks fantastic. When does the John Deere loader get some love?
Soon my friend, soon 😁
@@WelkerFarms I worked in a gravel pit in Minnesota when I was younger, then drove redi-mix and then a black topper. There were a couple of John Deere loaders I used to run.
Proverbs 4:11-12: "I will guide you in the way of wisdom and I will lead you in upright paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered, and when you run, you will not stumble."
Love watching the talent your entire family has. Each one of you have special skill when you work together nothing is impossible. Keep up the good work.
So does this mean it’s time for the versatile restoration 😂
Thank you for the scripture! It really makes a difference to read His words each day. Y’all are the best!
Let your dad get the one he wants because he is older
First, give Dad the new one! :-)
My parents took me to Farm Fest when I was probably 15. Way back in the 1970's. I remember getting up in a Big Bud and being amazed at the size of it and how big the cab was! You could walk around in there! Then I never saw another and didn't know anything about them until I started watching your channel. Thanks for the memories you all. Good work on the rebuild!
Where is Wagner WA-4? What are plans with that tractor?
From previous live streams, it's in the queue for when they have time to work on it.
Not sure exactly when we will tackle it as some things have come up that we may do first but we'll get to it eventually!
Unbelievable job guys. And I meant to comment several videos back on the job Scott did with the dash. It looks brand new. Thanks for sharing the experience with us.
Does anyone have any idea what this would sell for? 350 000?
You can usually find them in Montana for as low as 100k but they would be pretty worn out.
Some nice examples go for 250k
BigEquipment has 525/50 year 1979 (same as theirs) for $125,000, So I would say since theirs is restored it would go for 175-200
www.bigequipment.com/inventory/?/listings/farm-equipment/for-sale/153454217/1979-big-bud-525-50?dlr=1&pcid=2961279&sfc=0&ssc=0
Ron Harmon said ,about 15 years ago,at that time it would cost over $600,000 to build another 747.
If it wasn't for dad there wouldn't be big buds. You can see where I'm going with this. Respect, consideration and appreciation is what it's all about.
It should be named “Dads Big Bud”
Nice idea ..... love the man's spirit!
Agree, Need to make that in a decal and add it to the monster of a tractor. Great job to all who worked on it. I know putting your own sweat n blood into restoring means so much more than sending it off and have someone else do the work. That's why I like your channel so much. I grew up on a alfalfa farm and you didn't have the luxury of having someone else waiting to work on a breakdown.
BIG BUD turned out GREAT ! ! ! Great time lapse....Thanks for sharing, you all rock....
Enjoying the videos, not enjoying thousands of dollars worth of equipment sat outside. You need storage for the equipment that earns you the 💰
Yes it pains to see the combines outside but i am sure the Welkers feel that much more than even we do! Buildings cost big bucks and then taxes afterwards so there's that to think about too.
the main reason they are sitting outside is because their storage for the combines is being taken up by grain
I saw on insta that they have just taken delivery of a brand new grain bin, so as long as it's built up by next harvest they won't have to store grain in their equipment buildings.. problem will work itself out...
Nor thousands millions
They've said they desperately need grain storage first. Like Nick said "if farming ever becomes profitable again we have a lot of plans"
My favorite verse. Thank you Welkers.
And they say Farmers only kick back in the winter. Riiiiiight!😎😀👍
I didn't see a refrigerator, microwave or coffee maker in there.
😂 😁
Repair, Rebuild, Recycle, Restore then Replace. This is how I became a very wealthy man. Not only did you save money from buying brand new piece of very expensive equipment you get the satisfaction that you did a job well done. It is always great to see people use their hands and their minds to get ahead in life. This was a beautiful restoration. Stay warm and dry my friends.
Saw this and clicked sooooo fast 7th comment
You hero.
@@mike-lu8di why am I a hero?
You both have children, the next generation of farmers (hopefully)!! Yall have shown that not EVERYTHING has to be brand new, make do with what u have, THEN maybe get a new piece(pay that off), yall are making it easier for ur children to continue the family legacy.. and i appreciated the scripture verse u included in video !!
WOW! Man oh Man! The BEST production value, content of any video on You Tube. This channel is superior to anything on broadcast media PERIOD! THE BEST! Thank you for all the hard work and broadcasting this masterpiece!
Dad gets newly refurbished big bud or the big bud of his choice. Awesome job on the refurbishing!!!!
