The sword fight between Bob Steele and Fred Cavens was great. Cavens was a bona fide fencing master and intructor but Steele could hold his own against anyone with his natural great athleticism. What makes it more amazing is that all the actors performed their own stunts and there were no doubles.
Love that border dancing back then the girls were so tiny and the cowboys looked like giants! Except for steel he was pretty short! Cute girl from NYC singing and dancing. She does sound like Betty Boop! Awesome sword fight! Steele should have been Zorro!
I was in the navy in the mid 80s on an aircraft carrier and they had empty coffee cans everywhere for people to spit their tobacco in and it was freaking nasty.
My god that 'Gibby Hayes' was a tobacco chewing codger alright - if he swallowed that chaw at end of film he'd be sick for a month. It baffles the hell out of me trying to figure out what men find pleasurable about chewing tobacco? Can you imagine a world back then where men are all chewing and spiting everywhere?
Bob Steele was born Robert N Bradbury Jr. , the director of this film and many many of weserns was Robert N Bradbury )) I wondered how such a bad actor got so many starring roles.
Another fine Bob Steele movie.

I have never seen Ernie Adams play such a strongly defined boss-bad guy - nice going!
great show never heard of
Started watching Bob Steele as a youngster in the 1950's. Good to see him again.
Nice movie. Loved watching it. Bob Steele is a car racer here. Still he scintillates.
At 8:27 The girl doing the song and dance could pass for a real life Betty Boop.
“ room and board And besides ....I’ll give you a horse to ride.... “ haha good ol days!
What always goes up but never down. I challenge you match it
That was a good look for Gabby in that border saloon!
Gabby standing there with those two pistols in the saloon reminds me of Yosemite Sam!

Nice good luck symbols on the piano. for the ignorant viewers, those are ancient symbols of luck and peace.
I have to wonder about the efficacy and efficiency of a helmet made of leather!
It's a durn sight better than nothing!
That was Leather when Leather was LEATHER! To Boot!
What's with the symbol over the piano? 18:07 mark.
