    hi Johannesen brilliant video thank you, i hope to be in Lulea in north sweden at the end of june this year and was wondering is there anywhere further north that can be reached by public transport to just then walk to some wild fishing, i have done DIY for bone fish in Mexico And for grayling in the czech republc and i wild fish all over ireland but this is my first time heading to Northern sweden/lapland any information would be helpful, i dont mind walking in and roughing it.. thanks again and keep up the good videos

      Hi Laurence, yes there are definitily the oppertunity to travel by train/bus and walking in, roughing it 😎 i’ve done so my self a few times.
      I depends on what type of fishing you are looking for, regarding locations.
      But if you are already in Luleå, you can jump on the train towards Kiruna/Narvik. Many travelers stop in Kiruna, from where you can continue by bus, and also train, in various directions.
      So much to see and explore! And you don’t always have to walk far to find great fishing.
      Depending on time/days available, whether you want to walk trail/no trail, looking for rivers or lakes and so forth, you can start to narrow down your search and possible routes.
      I have spend a lot of time on google maps :)
      Of course you must have a fishing licence too, however not too expensive, with few exceptions. A terrain map is a good investment.
      If you are looking for big pines and pikes, there are many good places closer to Luleå too.
      Safe travels and tight lines!
      P.S. remember mosquito-spray

      @@johannesen3522 thanks for all the tips i think i will arrive in Kiruna if all goes to plan around midsummer and i have up to a week depending on what information i find out, one person said that might be still a little early for good fishing so i am going to have to read up and research, im not overly particular about which spicies i fish for as long as its flyfishing but i would like to try for Char in particular as i have never caught one before and also i have only ever caught Grayling once in Czech republic so i would really like a throw at those also but just to get up to such a beautiful place and fish is the most important thing for me. thanks again for your help and if you have any more tips or websites or forums you can reccomend for my research i would be very greatful, tight lines

      June can vary weatherwise. Especially in the mountains where snow may still be present, and freezing temperatures should be expected at nighttime. An extra pair of dry socks and a warm wollen sweater is recommended.

      @@johannesen3522 Is it quite heavy on the rod? Is it like a shooting head?

    • @johannesen3522
      @johannesen3522  Před 3 měsíci

      This line has an integrated shooting head. It loads the rod well, like a regular shooting head would.

    • @rangerwhite5165
      @rangerwhite5165 Před 3 měsíci

      @@johannesen3522 What rod and line combo do you use? I see the 5 weight is 14g. That's heavy!

    • @johannesen3522
      @johannesen3522  Před 3 měsíci

      It’s a Sage Igniter #6, and has super fast action. Tried a #5 Volantis Mastery line on it, but it didn’t feel right. So i use a #6.
      If your rod has moderate or slow action, it might cast better with a shootinghead a class lower than the rod, and in addition it will present your fly in a more delicate way. But of course, it’s preferable to test the specific line on your specific rod, to see how well they work together.
