"God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him." The words of Friedrich Nietzche have echoed through generations. Although many know and even quote the statement, only a few people truly understand its meaning. Because just like much of Nietzche's work, there's more there than meets the eye. This is the story of Nietzche, the man who killed God.

Got an exam on Nietzsche this Friday, he's quite an interesting man, "If God were real, and died, would you still treat others with the same values that he promotes?, or do our values come from an outside force? Are the values we promote really ours if we require a God to actually act upon them?"
Is that your quote or someone elseâs?
@@matthewboire6843 Technically mine, but it's more an adaptation of Nietzsche's actual problem with God as a concept,, he saw Gods as problematic because people lived for the values of God or Gods, when instead he believed that each person should search for their own value in life, and that stripping that away from a person was inherently wrong. He also mocked the profoundly religious people in saying that if God is the only reason that they don't do bad things, then they're still bad people, because a good person doesn't need a God to tell them what's right and wrong, a good person wouldn't need anyone to tell them because they themselves would already know
@@MegaBeeYT ok so itâs yours, I just wasnât sure. I like his ideas and you just changed the wording a bit, still the same meaning.
@@matthewboire6843 Yep, nw
If God does not exist then everything is relative. Your actions have no meaning and my bad actions are equivalent to your good ones
Reading about Nietzsche often makes me wonder if my daily struggles are just part of a big philosophical puzzle, or perhaps Iâm just overthinking things.
there might be a little analogy that would please you. Would you like me to tell you?
â@@not_NEKO yes
@@twa9995 imagine you're on a train. This train is heading somewhere unknown, and to tell you the truth, you're wondering if it's even going anywhere at all. On this train are various things, like other people and activities, more or less good. No matter how many times you ask people where the train is going, they'll either tell you they don't know, or they'll tell you a story about why we're on this train. But these stories often differ from person to person, so you don't really know who to believe. In the end, nobody seems to really know, and you might be sad about that, because this train could very well be going nowhere. In the end, however absurd it may seem, it doesn't really matter that there's no direction. Maybe the path the train takes is what justifies its journey. The goal would seem to be no more than an excuse to undertake the journey. That's why we say "In a journey it's not the destination that counts but always the path taken, and the detours especially."
It's just life, not that deep but deep.
@@jaughnekow absurd isn't deep, it's just absurd i guess

Agreed
Some people say they have experienced God, but I can't really wrap my mind around that. Eitherway it's not really something that you can wrap your mind around. Maybe it's the minds survival mechanism? A hallucination of some sort, to make sense of reality? Keeping a person alive? How could we know? Even if i myself experienced something like that, how could i know that my mind isn't making this up? That it's truly reality?

This might be the most put together, easy to understand, insighton Nietzsche I've observed. Well done.
Appreciate that!
Occasionally I'm envious of people who still believe in a god. Must be nice to just assume there's an all knowing.
It gives a sense of calm to them. Knowing that there's an overwhelming power who's watching over us. That means you don't have to worry so much about life because "leave everything to God", a placebo effect.
I think that's a positive about religion.
Interesting. I pity them instead, knowing from personal experience how difficult it is to dissuade oneself from deeply ingrained beliefs and that such beliefs can hold one back from learning the true nature of the world.

Your videos are so calming and actually make me think about life and whatâs important and whatâs not. I love your channel, if only more people could accept and/or acknowledge these concepts and ideas.
Thank you so much!
Nietzsche didn't kill god. We did. He just made the observation. Just like Newton didn't invent gravity the second he observed it.
Being know as the guy who killed god is definitely something
Game theory would have blown Nietzsche's mind
Still find it sad how in his older years he was driven to insanity, such that he started signing off his letters/books as God himself, or as grand historic figures which he obviously was not...
He had a brain disease. That's not insanity
Could i request a video that has a main focus on the differences and criticism of Nietzsche towards Plato, Descartes and Kant?, He was very adamant about rejecting those beliefs, and i feel that a video from you about it would be awesome
I have started reading âthus spoke Zarathustraâ lately, I feel strange empathy to him. His metaphor of zarathustra overcoming what he has created- the virtues or morality- so humanity can reach true freedom and stop our despise for the world.
He saw the shallow basis of new beliefs and even new religions believers. We werenât the same, so we should change. He had the huge effect on philosophy.
I ought you all to be superman, the new era of humanity.
Nietzche: The man who figured out the universe .
Unfortunately, it's not that easy to understand the world. There's only so much we can know, so theories are born. The existence of God is just as much a theory as his non-existence. I don't think we can really conclude whether He exists or not. To do so, in my opinion, would be to become entangled in a beautiful illusion. Only believing is beautiful, but knowing is sublime. Maybe we can only know that we don't know. The sublime isn't necessarily beautiful, it's often even frightening. It's up to you what you choose. Sometimes illusion is better.
How do you have that much of stock video footage please tell me please help me with this
Read every philosophy, theory, idea and new research studies and finally that's you who has to decide & figured it out how to live most consciously with deep awareness of existence.

ENJOY!, If nothing matters, that means YOU get to decide what matters, the important stuff to you is what matters!, do whatever you want because when nothing matters, Every little thing is Valuable.
That's often the idea. But the absurdity of the universe makes everything absurd, even your happiness or your thoughts. Order would only be a part of chaos in this sense. It's not easy to accept the absurd; you'd have to be crazy, to be aware of it, to be happy about it. For me, it's close to a mental gymnastics that I think is important to do. It's a line of reasoning that can only be understood with experience. Madness is innate, but wisdom is not. The greatest of the wise is only the master of fools. Happiness must be accompanied by naivety, they say.
@@not_NEKO It's said that with knowledge also comes pain, because the more you know, the more you're aware of your own insignificance and the grandiose nature of the universe, which is inherently absurd. I gotta admit that I'm not without my downs, however my beliefs don't waiver in light of this truth, instead they're reaffirmed, because whenever I am pained, it's a reminder that I get to choose how to react to that pain, and ultimately, the way I react is what truly determines the life I get to live, and I'm the protagonist of my own life, just as you're the protagonist of your own life. Really, I like to think of my life like a tale, a book, a show, or a piece of art, and that one day, once I'm older or on my death bed, I'll get to show someone a couple pages, episodes, verses, and even if they don't know the scope of the project, they can still indulge in how beautiful it ends up being

God was a concept invented by our ancestors in order to make sense of the natural world, to comfort oneself. Concept of God includes few moral and ethical rules which one must follow in order to live in order to be accepted by peers (society) which eventually determine ones survival.
God isnt a person. I dont beleive in imporsonating God but the values and principles one must have as a human being, the most intelligent and santient species. I strongly feel and beleive that we are loosing this trait. We are becoming wild animals or even worse zombies. I have so much to say, i wish i could make others have my perspective. I am failling, and i am loosing myself. Everyday I feel more disconnected and distanced from the world. The thought of not belonging to this world tightening its grip even furthur. Sadly Money and power that comes with owning money is the only GOD that is left here. We have become wild animals who not literally but figuratively scavenge on each others mental peace. I am the person who no longer wish to play this game if capitalism. I am 30 years old and have seen this transformation in the society. The next generation will find current sick lifestyle as normal. This isnt normal, this is sick. Whoever read this in near future, just remember we were much better in the past. Capitalism has ruined us.our ignorance and incapabilty to contemplate our existence on cosmic scale has wasted this beautiful opportunity to experience human life. Please think for yourself, ask questions, have curiosity. Dont just be a rat in this pointless rat race. RIP all in advance. MAY DEATH MAKE YOU HUMBLE.
It seems like you are a deep reflector, my advice would to consider the rational and logic arguments of whether the universe required a design due to its fine tuned nature, and also whether the universe required a first mover i.e. a caused uncause which could create the universe outside the universe.

A lot of maniacs think Christ was God.
no, he didn't mean Jesus because it was only one of many theories that Jesus was God in the flesh. What I don't understand is why christians believe fanciful theories instead of paying attention to Jesus' own words. He constantly refuted people who wanted to deify him by saying over 70 times (his most prominent message) that he was a normal human, a "son of man". By his own words he was just a prophet, later made the poster boy of the new religion that Paul created, based on fanciful interpretations of who Jesus was. Paul was the wolf in sheeps clothing that Jesus warned would come after his death.
