As a Lakers fan that ending makes me sad. I think about how many championships they could have had together if they just could have put egos aside and played to win. So many championships that could have been. DAMN...
I don't really think it was up to ego. Shaq didn't want a paycut, Kobe was in his 20's averaging 30 points in the playoffs. Shaq was in his 30's and had 2-3 years left in his prime. You can only keep one, it was a business move that would be made 9/10 times by any other time. You can't blame shaq for not wanting a paycut of 1/3.

I'm thinking about this statement, and it's hard to disagree. Wilt was the most statistically dominant big man, but didn't step up in big games like Shaq. Russel was the most dominant in terms of championships, but obviously not nearly as talented as Shaq. The level of competition was much lower. Hakeem probably was a franchise/championship level center for longer than Shaq, and beat him in the NBA finals, but prime Shaq was probably better/more dominant.

and start with very very basic things . You don't need a coach for this basics like dribbling the ball at normal speed or basic hand-switch crossovers .

Players I see having fun on the court this season: deandre Jordan, steph curry, Dwight Howard, Andre iguodala, Dwyane wade, whiteside, westbrooks explosiveness is fun af, I find Demarcus cousins a bipolar character to watch sometimes he's fun sometimes he does dumb shit but it's entertaining regardless, ehhhh idk who else. Porzingis is very fun to watch. Idk if we'll agree but I'm just talking about this season alone.

they're both smiling at the end co-holding that MVP trophy because each one is happy for himself individually, not because they're sharing. Two of the hugest egos the league has ever seen, probably the biggest ego duo on a same team ever. Love them or hate them or like them or wtvr, they are two gigantic ego-monsters.

Even though I agree with you, at least both have recently came out and said they wish they would have put their egos aside and stayed together to win more championships. I mean it takes a lot to say something like that. Shaq said it first a couple of years ago and I was shocked Kobe actually said it about a year ago in an interview he did with Stephen A. Smith.
